http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/05/05/gotham-series-order/Saw the preview for it earlier tonight. Looks pretty good. I couldn't actually tell if 12 year old Bruce Wayne is going to come across younger versions of later villains.I see it having potential for at least a couple of seasons. I don't know that there is enough about Gotham city though, without all of its bad guys, to carry for more than that.
5/5/2014 10:50:31 PM
I'll give it a shot, maybe it'll be as good as Arrow.

Detective Ryan Atwood

Here is the full trailer: http://youtu.be/0d1zpt6k5OI, which actually looks surprisingly good imo. Where I'm really worried they are going to screw it up is with the young villains. I'm worried that they are going to try and tie all of them in with direct relationships with young Bruce somehow, which I think would be disastrous. If thy just highlighted them tangentially through Gordon's dealing with crime in the city, I think it could work
5/6/2014 8:36:49 AM
Already picked up for a full season.
5/6/2014 9:25:51 AM
Soon.
8/24/2014 6:58:42 PM
the premise sounds cool in theory, but i know good and well i'm gonna want to see fucking batman sooner rather than later, which obviously won't happen till the series finale
8/24/2014 7:10:13 PM
Bruce would be a young rich kid attending private school. Can't see him having much interaction with Harvey Dent or Oswald Cobblepot and it being realistic in the show.
8/28/2014 12:17:07 PM
^see my comment above, interacting with Gordon would work, directly with Bruce would be dumb
8/28/2014 12:26:36 PM
I enjoyed it.
9/22/2014 9:18:46 PM
Was interesting to say the least. So Ive never read comics, did half of this come from the comics or just kinda related from the latest set of movies?
9/22/2014 9:26:57 PM
I thought it was interesting
9/22/2014 10:25:05 PM
i didn't quite have the reaction I was expecting. I thought Ben McKenzie was fine. Donal Logue was laying on the comic book hamminess a little too thick. It just didn't do a whole lot for me. Also not sure what I think about this spin on Alfred.
9/24/2014 11:28:58 AM
Enjoyed it but I felt that they should have made things a little more subtle with the future villains. Throwing the Riddler in there and having him be all like "Riddle me this!" and having people tell Oswald Cobblepot that he looks/walks like a penguin multiple times was a little too much. Just felt like they were shouting "HEY THIS GUY BECOMES THE RIDDLER AND THIS OTHER GUY BECOMES THE PENGUIN".
9/24/2014 12:09:05 PM
^^Alfred was one of the few things I actually enjoyed about the show
9/24/2014 12:12:50 PM
I'm a non comic book reader, were there any characters that were not obvious that I may have missed? I remember catwoman, poison ivy, penguin, riddler, commissioner gordon, batman, alfred. anyone else?
9/24/2014 12:13:57 PM
I don't know most of them, as I am not a comic book reader and haven't seen/forgotten most of the batman movies.
9/24/2014 12:35:31 PM
how come this thread isn't bucketed and all discussion forced into ***Fall TV 2014***
9/24/2014 1:15:04 PM
Because.
9/24/2014 1:36:47 PM
have this DVRed. hopefully it will be worth watching.
9/24/2014 2:39:52 PM
^^^ this show has traction already, Scorpion sucked and will not last
9/24/2014 3:39:07 PM
Watched the pilot. I enjoyed it. Definitely has potential.
9/29/2014 11:32:20 AM
Didn't enjoy episode one
9/29/2014 12:43:43 PM
Watching the pilot nowMaurice Levy as a cop gave me a little chuckle
9/29/2014 6:52:36 PM
Episode 2 was decent, i'll continue to tune in. I like John Doman as an actor but I feel like he's not the right fit as Carmine Falcone.
9/30/2014 8:26:23 AM
There's just something off about this show. Most of the actors just feel like they're trying too hard.
9/30/2014 8:36:28 AM
it's written as if the viewer has zero knowledge of the batman universe and we all have to have our hands held through the entire thing. it's too heavy handed at times."Ok, Selina.." "No, I'm Cat! Like a Cat, and i have reflexes like a Cat, and one day i'll be a woman, and people will probably call me Catwoman! wink wink nod nod!""Hey, you're my little Penguin... and now you walk like a Penguin, Did anyone ever tell you you walk like a Penguin??? wink wink nod nod"]

9/30/2014 10:05:47 AM
this show is terrible. Can't wait for Arrow to come back on.
9/30/2014 3:14:07 PM
91% on Rotten Tomatoes. 71% on metacritic (that's good for tv shows). All reviews have been generally favorable. I still need to watch the second episode but it appears the general reviewer populous likes it.
9/30/2014 3:20:11 PM
because its a show about batman without batman.
9/30/2014 4:44:16 PM
It it bad to say that Cat Woman/Girl (Camren Bicondova) is um, very pretty for a 15 year old girl?BTW, Arrow is gay and it sucks. (never seen it, haha)^^^^ Hahahaha, that is exactly what I thought when I saw Episode 1, but it wasn't as bad in Episode 2 (actually they may not have done it at all).[Edited on October 1, 2014 at 12:05 AM. 10/1/2014 7:57:47 AM
And a few times with the penguin, I thought it was much worse/more frequent than the first episode
10/1/2014 8:10:48 AM
I've liked the first two episodesalso,
10/1/2014 8:59:42 AM
^^^Obviously in an episode named after Cat Woman, they are going to show her clearly as Cat Woman. The only thing said about Penguin was, "you walk like a penguin". If anything else was said I didn't hear it because I was doing other shit while I was playing it. So far this show doesn't deserve my dedicated attention.[Edited on October 1, 2014 at 9:47 AM. Reason : ^]
10/1/2014 9:46:45 AM
It was obvious that she was gonna be Catwoman the second they showed her. They don't need to repeat over and over again that she wants people to call her "cat" and stuff.Fish referred to him exclusively as "her little penguin" a few times and even more in the last episode. That whole Riddler thing is stupid too. I'd think that any cop working with him would just be like "Stop being an idiot and just tell me what you've found. We don't have time for this."
10/1/2014 10:22:35 AM
I find it funny you are going over the show with a microscope when it is getting obvious this show will be a 1 Season only show unless it gets DRASTICALLY more entertaining. Also that no jokes were made on what I said about the 15 year old Cat Woman.
10/1/2014 10:41:58 AM
eyes too far apart. would not bang.happy?
10/1/2014 11:41:22 AM
^^you don't need a microscope to see that they are needlessly and repeatedly beating you over the head with who the villains are. The Riddler one doesn't even bother me all that much, in relation to the shit they are doing with penguin and cat woman, it almost seems subtle. There is no need whatsoever for her to go by Cat instead of Selina
10/1/2014 12:16:30 PM
Another big thing about all this needless name dropping and hints -- how are these villains supposed to maintain a "secret" identity in the future? Not much of an issue for Penguin, but Catwoman and Riddler both wear masks for a reason. Once Catwoman starts prancing around in about 20 years, it will take Gordon about 8 seconds to think "Hmmm, who have I encountered in my past that is obsessed with cats, goes by the name 'Cat', has already proved herself as being very skilled in stealth/agility, and has a history of stealing things?"On a side note, I do agree with you on the girl that plays Catwoman, blackdog. In a few years she's gonna be a hottie. Her and that crazy girl from Walking Dead.
10/1/2014 1:06:18 PM
^ Pretty easy.. none of them have secret identities. They're all real deal full-time criminals. It's not like The Riddler works at a CVS during the day.[Edited on October 1, 2014 at 7:30 PM. Reason : ]
10/1/2014 7:29:46 PM
Well without Batman the only hero we have is Gordon, right? This makes Gotham a series solely about the villains. This presents an increased difficulty for writing an entertaining script and so far they have laid down who is who and done an episode on Cat Girl (I'm not calling a 15 year old a woman). Does this mean every episode will now be named after a villain? If so I'll stop watching after the next episode, which was my plan anyway. If they can't pull my interest off ESO and look at the 42" screen above my 24" BenQ, then the show sucks in my calculations.[Edited on October 1, 2014 at 9:18 PM. Reason : _]
10/1/2014 9:16:22 PM
^ No, I don't want to spoil anything, but there's already been at least one 'super hero' introduced.
10/1/2014 9:54:16 PM
I'm kind of annoyed by how big/nice Gordon's apartment is. Gotham is supposed to be a giant city, like the same size as New York right? An apartment like that would cost like millions of dollars. Definitely not something that a detective in the local police department could afford.
10/7/2014 10:06:44 AM
I assumed it was his gf's family money.
10/7/2014 10:27:56 AM
I didn't know her family was rich or anything -- I just figured even if so, Gordon's character seems very humble to the point that I wouldn't think he'd live in such a grand place.
10/7/2014 10:31:29 AM
Plus wasn't his dad a big shot or something? Maybe he's got family money too.
10/7/2014 10:32:20 AM
Up here, I was making more than a detective before I got fired and I could only afford a 500 square foot studio apartment. Every single TV series ever (Friends for example) has been completely unrealistic with regard to the lifestyle. The only one that got it right was The Cosby Show, where it took a lawyer and a doctor to afford a brownstone in Brooklyn.
10/7/2014 10:35:09 AM
I have no issues with this show thus far. Enjoying it quite a bit.
