holy shitlifetime ban AND $2.5M fine???
4/29/2014 2:23:59 PM
just playing devils advocate while what he did was atrocious, isn't there some question when it comes to freedom of speech here?
4/29/2014 2:25:59 PM
He was free to say what he said, but there are always consequences to saying stupid shit.
4/29/2014 2:27:17 PM
Yeah unfortunately theres always consequences. Especially when huge sponsors like State Farm and Kia pull out and lose the players and the nba tons of money, people are going to be pissed off as hell.
4/29/2014 2:28:47 PM
It's a bit much for just one incident. His history of discrimination had to have been taken into account. He deserves a punishment obviously, and even moreso for keeping the Clippers so shitty until recently.
4/29/2014 2:30:10 PM
4/29/2014 2:32:22 PM
and if Agent 0's post had too many syllables and not enough pictures:
4/29/2014 2:34:10 PM
What does a ban mean for an owner?
4/29/2014 2:34:56 PM
4/29/2014 2:35:59 PM
Mistress: 1Sterling: 0
4/29/2014 2:37:27 PM
I don't agree with his opinion but this is ridiculous. Also."Pretty scary times we live in. Private conversations being made public. Wrong thoughts being used as a basis for firing from a job. Basically the death of individual rights and a forced enforcement of group think by any means."[Edited on April 29, 2014 at 2:39 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2014 2:38:07 PM
He was dead either way it went. If he stayed, they would have no players, coach, or sponsors after the season.
4/29/2014 2:40:01 PM
i still say this was all an elaborate plan by Magic Johnson to buy the Clippers
4/29/2014 2:43:45 PM
4/29/2014 2:44:41 PM
thoughtpolice wins, what a ridiculous ruling. if he had said something about the gays they'd have thrown him a parade. this country is circling the drain
4/29/2014 2:45:03 PM
thoughtpolice? wat?A private entity doesn't want a mouthpiece for racism associated with them. So they showed him the door.Private comments made public by one of the people involved in the comments.Sounds fine to me.]
4/29/2014 2:46:17 PM
Good night...sweet prince
4/29/2014 2:46:54 PM
4/29/2014 2:47:30 PM
Van Gundy just made an excellent point on ESPNgoing forward, if a player/coach/executive were to slip up and drop an N-bomb or say something racist, would he be fined and given a lifetime ban??a precedent has now been set
4/29/2014 2:47:51 PM
Is peta also mad at him for having a cat as a mistress?
4/29/2014 2:48:44 PM
4/29/2014 2:48:56 PM
He should have just paid the woman to be quiet. Now look at him, the NBA just handed him the death sentence. The NBA has a gay player, if he said some homophobic shit he'd of got hit harder.
4/29/2014 2:49:10 PM
^^ I've seen no mention of him saying the word "nigga"]
4/29/2014 2:49:37 PM
One private opinion made public, dude lost his team and $2.5mil. UNC been cheat for years and shits happen. . But really this is really stupid.
4/29/2014 2:49:48 PM
4/29/2014 2:49:57 PM
Larry Johnson is calling for an all black leagueBan him, because thats pretty racist too
4/29/2014 2:50:16 PM
4/29/2014 2:52:02 PM
To me, the most surprising thing to take away from all this is that there are this many people that still care about the NBA.
4/29/2014 2:52:14 PM
Correction, only the white ones will get banned. Lebron can say my nigga all day.MY NIGGA MY NIGGA MY NIGGA ADAM SILVER IS MY NIGGA etc^I HATE BASKETBALL AND THE NBA. It was just sweet watching this guy get railroaded.[Edited on April 29, 2014 at 2:53 PM. Reason : .]

4/29/2014 2:53:16 PM
4/29/2014 2:53:17 PM
He'll probably buy a NASCAR team
4/29/2014 2:56:38 PM
or an All Black Basketball League
4/29/2014 2:57:08 PM
Nascar driver dropped a n bomb, got a indefinite suspension. And that wasn't even recorded. He needs to buy a soccer team in Spain.
4/29/2014 2:57:49 PM
Or another NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award
4/29/2014 2:58:09 PM
4/29/2014 3:00:31 PM
its funny to think there was a time when it was unpopular to not be racist.
4/29/2014 3:05:27 PM
I agree with Mark Cuban:
4/29/2014 3:06:05 PM
ding ding ding
4/29/2014 3:06:43 PM
Mark Cuban can vote against the forced sell.
4/29/2014 3:09:25 PM
he just doesn't want someone competent running the Clippers
4/29/2014 3:10:31 PM
Because what he said had no implications or effects outside of his home, in the past or potentially in the future? It's ok to be bigot and tell people to conform to your ways outside of the home, as long as you say it in your house.[Edited on April 29, 2014 at 3:13 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2014 3:10:50 PM
If they force a sell, what determines the price? Also he signed the ownership agreement, he knew this was a possibility if he decided he was a slave master instead of a team owner.[Edited on April 29, 2014 at 3:19 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2014 3:18:36 PM
Pretty sure he has to put the team on Ebay
4/29/2014 3:19:30 PM
4/29/2014 3:21:40 PM
Just out of curiosity, how did he get all of his money?
4/29/2014 3:23:36 PM
Slaves?
