Wye Oak's "Civilian" I've always thought the latter half of the line "I don't need another friend when most of them I can barely keep up with them" sounds p awkward.[Edited on April 15, 2014 at 8:03 PM. Reason : .]

On a very similar note, "world in which we live in" in "Live and Let Die" drives me nuts.

^this

^^For some reason, that doesn't bother me, but the line "It is to you I give this to" in the Rain Song always irks me.oh wait, it's "I give this tune." I suck.[Edited on April 15, 2014 at 8:53 PM. Reason : ero[ijtoer]

solo or whatever you want to call it blows ass in smells like teen spirit, cobain did more with it live i think so I guess he just wanted something easy for that album

Who are you - The Who... the intro sucks.

oh The Love Language rhyming rest with rest in Lalita is not my favorite.[Edited on June 19, 2015 at 3:58 PM. Reason : .]

every single fucking song with a bridge that changes the key.
6/19/2015 5:35:29 PM
"geese in flight and dogs that bite" from Carolina in my mind is the single worst lyric in the history of music.
6/19/2015 8:33:55 PM
Yeah, but James Taylor sucks in general.
6/19/2015 9:27:49 PM
lol ok
6/20/2015 9:56:52 AM
"Carolina in my Mind" went from a song that was either neutral to me, or partially "patriotic" (in a State-sense) when I was younger, to a song I loathe nowadays that I associate with Walmart UNC fans who only attended Carolina "in their mind"

that weird part in the middle of Virtual Insanity

Every Rush song is pretty good except for that damned singing
6/20/2015 10:24:03 PM
This song doesn't "totally rule", but I'd find "Hey Baby" by No Doubt more tolerable without "All the girls wanna get with the boys and boys really like it"
6/21/2015 11:27:28 AM
^^How dare you question the vocals of Geddy Lee?!
6/21/2015 12:19:10 PM
geddy lee sucksjames taylor is only good in two-lane blacktop98% of lyrics are dumbif you ignore them, the quality of your musical experiences will skyrocket

98% it's science.

first two that come to mind:the intro to "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd (not the only one they do that)the intro to "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake.

what are people's thoughts about the second movement on Layla?

sure, many lyrics are dumb. maybe this is partly due to the fact that rhyming is generally pretty silly. most contemporary poetry worth anything doesn't follow a strict rhyme scheme. but even in the land of 98% dumbness there are lines that stick out extra and take me out of the music against my will. accepting that sports for example and literally every other human activity is existentially pretty dumb and silly doesn't dampen my primal investment and allow unconditional enjoyment. I generally try to find the good in and enjoy things but it's still a slight bummer and eyeroll when I realize best coast will never stop prominently using the words sky high die crazy ~*bummer*~ summer. not that she "totally rules" or rules at all anymore.lol I'm rambling and probably making zero sense and responding disproportionately but the 8 hour train I'm on has become a 13 hour train and I'm delirious.[Edited on June 23, 2015 at 8:54 PM. but she's cute and smokes a shit ton of weed
6/23/2015 11:23:40 PM
^^ that's precisely the song that inspired her mention, though this has been the case with her for quite a bit. first album is still dope and Our Deal still makes me cry a little doe.
6/23/2015 11:58:48 PM
she's a one trick pony who had a great debut of that one trickI'll always love the debut of that one trick, and her, for a few other reasons[Edited on June 24, 2015 at 12:08 AM. Reason : .]
