Watching Kyiv getting bombed reminded me of 2003 watching Baghdad get bombed.

We dropped 600 cruise missile in a few days on them, the world and most Americans were pissed as George bush and dick Cheney, and he didn’t redeem himself until trump. Our society still hasn’t recovered from the boondoggle of the irAq war.

There was broad reporting from in the us and uk intel agencies that the mobile wmd labs were bullshit. But a lot of the media reported this as true and most people supported the war based on this. But as soon as the mainstream media realized this was bullshit and started reporting it, and Rumsfeld shock and awe failed and we weren’t greeted as liberators, bush became the most unpopular president in recorded history (until trump). Public opinion turned sharply against bush… remember the not my president, constant protests, constant calls to try him for war crimes… he was bad and for the same reasons we hate Putin now.
