So a side business I started a little bit ago has developed a need for a dedicated truck. I'm looking for something around $5000 to $6000, full size bed, white, 2wd. A v6 would probably be fine as they're really not hauling much bulk material. If I ever needed to I'd pay to have it delivered. I'm most concerned with reliability and longevity. What would you recommend?

don't get a V6. they get the same or worse MPG as the V8 and are less capable.just find a chevy or gmc 1500 work truck.

Picked up a 4.8 liter long bed Silverado for next to nothing today. All it needs is a tailgate bezel.

When I was looking for a light duty truck / 4wd not long ago I ended up buying a nice Jeep Comanche.Actually I traded a rifle for it like a true hick.

It came with 4 spare steelies with bald ass M/Ts in the bed. I felt redneck as well. In other news, I picked up a sweet new full size Weatherguard tool box today for $350. Forgot to say about the 2001 Silverado - in my OP I was looking to spend $5-6k. I ended up spending $3000 on a low mileage 01 because I didn't see much improvement on the updated newer body style 03+ Chevy and GM trucks. Same powertrain. It was also one owner and local. The extra steelies were from another fleet truck that belonged to the company. I'll be posting those online soon to recoup some of the money for the toolbox. Maybe $100?[Edited on January 6, 2014 at 10:07 PM. Reason : .]

^if they're roller status, then they're worth a Benjamin. If not, I'd say ~$50-60 for the set.
