Incorrect. The best album of the year was the cookbook that came with B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time.

1. the knife and the haxan cloak (tie! both blew my head into tiny pieces. unbelievably inventive and goddamn gorgeous records.)
3. the love triangle (if you like energetic rock music that isn't just 90s throwback bullshit... catchiest thing i heard all year: http://sorrystaterecords.bandcamp.com/album/clever-clever)
4. the dreebs (a one-sided 12", but i'm counting it. future music that makes just about everything else look mundane and mindless. also the best set i saw all year)
5 - 10 in any order: ghostface/adrian younge (younge is a genius), joint d/ (rock and/or roll tough party times), run the jewels (contemporary hitmakers), yeezus (true), nate young (better than the wolf eyes record), wolf eyes (better than most other records)

and rp boo at no. 11 cuz it's tight.

I have a hard time really putting stuff in "order" anymore, so here's my input.

Deafheaven - Sunbather was my AOTY. Haven't had a metal album hit me like that in a long time.

I probably gave significant listen to 40ish albums this year? I'm sure I missed plenty of records I would really enjoy, but these are the rest of my highlights or favorites from the year:

My Favorites
The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die - Whenever, If Ever
The Dismemberment Plan - Uncanney Valley
Mansions - Doom Loop
Candy Claws - Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time
The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of us is the Killer
Chvrches - The Bones of What You Believe
Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City
Foxing - The Albatross

Other HMs
Sigur Ros - Kveikur
Washed Out - Paracosm
My Bloody Valentine - m b v
Scale the Summit - The Migration
Haken - The Mountain
Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused to Sing

I probably would have added Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap had I listened to it by the time I created my list.
