To me, its like trying to follow a story that my drunk grandpa is trying to tellwild hand gestures and weird tangents during the storybut hey, that's who Cosby is
11/23/2013 9:16:41 PM
probably the most universally respected comedian of all time (by other comedians)that matters

Saw him at DPAC last year. It was exactly what you'd expect; not the slightest bit edgy, but genuinely entertaining.Twice he asked what time it was from someone in the front row, and he still did 30 more minutes than he was supposed to.Bill Cosby rules.

It takes a lot of talent to make the majority of people in the audience laugh without being edgy and profane.
11/24/2013 8:29:08 AM
not reallythat's a Jeff Dunham argument
11/24/2013 12:55:20 PM
Jeff Dunham's act is the hackiest shit around. It's super dirty, but he doesn't curse, so he calls himself family friendly.WHAT A DICK
11/24/2013 2:00:16 PM
special needs family friendly

Cosby is legendary because what he's always done is simply be the most entertaining storyteller. Not the best standup, the best observational comic, the best at being cynical or ironic or insulting, anything like that. He'd tell a story that would go on forever, take tangents all over the place, and still come to a conclusion that leaves you laughing. And he's done that every decade since the 1960s. No one else can manage that. Not to take away from someone like George Carlin, but I can listen to his 60s stuff over and over to this day.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqSd3HhXX-o

He's not Redd Foxx or Belle Barth, but his material is dirtier than a "family friendly" comic has any business being.

The timing.

the pinnacle of story telling as stand-up comedy is Doug Stanhope's tale of Bobbie Barnett
