If I want to be able to remotely access (not on same network) my home laptop with its lid closed, are there any easy remote access ways to do this? Does anyone know if LogMeIn or similar products are able to do this? I'm seeing mixed answers while googling and I don't know enough about networking to be sure which answer is correct.

By laptop lid closed you mean machine in standby mode right?

yeah, right now i have it to go into standby when the screen closes and it is plugged in. I'd have to check for on batter, it may go into hibernate on battery but i can change this or leave plugged in.

these are the same webpages I found, and I couldn't tell if WoWLAN was supported.

Everything I'm seeing says it is (for PC), as long as your hardware supports it.http://community.logmeinrescue.com/t5/Free/Two-PCs-required-for-Wake-On-LAN/td-p/86882More: http://community.logmeinrescue.com/t5/Free/Wake-on-LAN/m-p/31093#M242[Edited on October 9, 2013 at 11:39 AM. So there is no way to do this unless you have another computer on the network that is left on, which defeats the point.
