Why don't you just move to Raleigh?
we have a good little community here

and very few people will talk to you about chemtrails

That is tempting. I just might, Snewf. I just might. Currently getting prerequisites done in TN though.

I, for one, know people who live in Raleigh and believe in chemtrails.

That said, when I search for "chemtrails Raleigh NC", the top result is from stopsprayingcalifornia.com. That just made my day a little bit better.

I read it and I blame the internet. Everyone is a skeptic now about damn everything because they can find bs on the internet to support whatever conclusion they have reached.

that's why Popular Science has done away with comments on their articles

lol. ^^ this. I often see college-educated kids posting on fb about not using some product because some celebrity had a bad experience with it and tried to throw in some medical reasoning to justified it.

mrfrog, I don't know if you've seen this video I haven't been able to find again. It is just 20 minutes of this crazy lady spraying her back yard with a regular spray bottle, talking nonsense and walking around in circles. All you see is her holding the spray bottle. It is almost like watching a first person shooter, but with invisible bad guys.

rflong, Yeah it's funny how these people are so distrusting of science and technology, but then they buy into the most ridiculous claims by some random fucktard posting 3 hour "documentaries" on youtube by a production company they made up. These types tend to frequent sites like PrisonPlanet.com and NaturalNews.com

I'm all for spraying Cali with any chemicals that will prevent the people from breeding.

I really upset about this. I love reading comments - they're usually the most entertaining part! It's like a slightly more intellectual version reality TV. Very slightly.

It's a bit alarming when PopSci says they're doing away with their comments section because it interferes with their scientific doctrine. Science is about open discussion. Of course a moderator should delete/block the truly asinine comments/posters but this is overkill.

Science isn't about discussion. Science is about experimentation. There isn't any experimentation happening in comments sections. Just trolling and the proselytizing of those who deny reality.

yes it's about the scientific method, experimentation and observation. But results are discussed. I've never viewed the comments section of PopSci so perhaps it was getting really bad. But other scientific blogs have wonderful comments sections with other scientists chiming in. You can really learn a lot.
