^ It is sad. I ate there for the first time like a month ago. It wasn't anything that special, but the food was good and cheap. I'm a sucker for the "hole in the wall" vibe so I was def planning to go back.

In Chapel Hill, on Franklin Street, Ms Mong has just opened. Run by Park (the son of the Bali Hai owners and the guy who ran the Raleigh restaurant). Same general format as Bali Hai, but with more sauce choices, and you don't fill the bowls yourself. But not an issue. Better than Bali Hai. Better quality meat, and the cook is more consistent.
