The only reason i'd hang out with a bunch of design nerds is if they ahd plenty of bud light to share.[Edited on September 23, 2013 at 11:55 AM. Reason : nah i][Edited on September 23, 2013 at 11:55 AM. Reason : nah i'd drink their liquor too]

This is a thing people who graduated go to?Aren't some of you 10 years + out of school? I will also not be attending my high school drama department Christmas Party (there was drinking there too).

I'm just asking out of curiosityI live near the university so I might walk by and take a look at their design but I won't be attending

Only went once. There was some topless girl "dressed" like a robot (silver body paint and a bunch of CDs stuck to her). She wasn't really that cute and kept getting up on stage. I heard she's always there topless in some way.

Whatever, all those girls are snotty and waiting to move to New York after graduation before they try to live out their dream as seen on HBO.

Yeah that was 2003. 2005 was the last year of alcohol I believe. I was in grad school in the CoD at the time, and helped build a lot of the set in 04 and 05. It was usually the industrial design kids who made most of the themed sets, the architects and graphic design who themed the alcohol and I have no idea who managed the music but it was always good.It was pretty much the last fun thing to do on campus since Brent road was abolished. But in 2005 we exceeded fire code capacity big time, which was the last straw for campus police. For the most part people were always pretty respectful and low key, aka no brawls, no macho grand standing and a lot of awesome costumes (and always a pretty amazing guy/girl ratio for NCSU).

fun died in 2005

I remember some douche wrote an editorial to the Technician about how it was unfair the design school allowed alcohol at their events when no other place on campus did. The next year was the year they stopped allowing alcohol.Of course, when you have a studio space within feet from the party where you can refill your cup, then it was no problem.

^AFAIK That was part of the same crackdown. We had beer and liquor and kegs in the studios up until 05 as well, then we were summarily told to stop.
