How many on here have had to RMA a Seagate external hard drive before? I have a thunderbolt hard drive that gave out last week and I did the RMA purchase. I just requested the hard drive to be replaced (nothing was wrong with the Thunderbolt part), but Seagate sent the whole product.Seagate sent the following instructions with it:

send it back

I just hate their wording, they got me all excited I got another Thunderbolt adapter as they're like 100 bucks on their own. Guess I can still keep the cable though...so at least a few dollars saved there.

fuck that, I wouldn't send back the thunderbolt adapter. The drives all have a USM (Universal Storage Module) connector, which they should have absolutely no need for in repairing and sending you a replacement. The Thunderbolt connector IS the interface cable. you should keep it.[Edited on August 17, 2013 at 6:19 PM.
