"RALEIGH, N.C. — A resident of Raleigh's Wolf Creek apartments shot and killed an intruder early Saturday.

Police were called to the complex near the State Fairgrounds early Saturday morning just before 2 a.m. They find one person dead of a gunshot wound.

Investigators said that the resident, who was armed, was inside Apartment 106 at 6118 Wolf Ridge Court when he was confronted by an armed intruder. The resident prevailed.

Raleigh police said no charges were expected in the case."

I didn't think you could have firearms in student housing like that.

Will be interesting to see what happens to this person.

wolf creek is not officially student housing, though many students live there.

Wolf creek isn't student housing. It's a privately owned apartment complex. Are you thinking of wolf village over on campus?

He fixed the glitch. Nice shooting.

I'd be a little scared of overpenetration issues in a place like Wolf Creek, though.

I don't mean official student living, as in NCSU owned...I just remember my lease and they specifically said no firearms allowed on the property.

Overpenetration? Some of the scenery at the pool is probably overpenetrated.

As much as they rent to Shaw and all the other little colleges, not surprised this place has become a dump lately. Its anything and everything but State, and quickly turning into a bad section of Durham Ive heard.

He did not break the law, though he could have violated his lease agreement. In any case, I beat the intruder won't do it again.

Word of advice to all students in Raleigh. Get a weapon, preferably a pistol or shotgun if you are on the first floor at any of the apartment complex's. Criminals think students are easy picking, lol at that dead nigga. There better be charges filed, if his black ass wasn't sneaking into peoples apartments in the middle of the night he wouldn't of become a victim.

After my apartment at campus edge was broken into, my first move the next monday was a pistol purchase permit, and a nice new glock became my bedside book.

The resident may lose his lease but he will be alive to find another place.

A lease at wolf creek. Section 8 > Wolf Creek

Good riddance. Now the next criminal in Raleigh will think twice before targeting students. And this guy was a woman beater...

Any place that is the cheapest option is a shitty place to live. Wolf creek is full of low income, drug heads. My girlfriend ignored my advice and lived there last year. The apartment had terrible old carpet, doors and windows didn't seal, high overages every month, roaches, fines for everything, and groups of pot heads smoking on the stairs...I could write a book about how bad that apartment complex is. I wish they would take wolf off their name.

Wolf creek does not even seem that old to me, isn't it less than 10 years old? I think its interesting how student apartments go in and out of favor so quickly. Lake park was slam full of students not too long ago, these days not so much. Wolf creek was nice and new..then it got run down and ghetto apparently.

First of all I bet they knew each other. But if they didn't, why would you rob a college apartment, you know college students are broke.

Broke yes, do they have nice tv's, ps3's, xboxs, ipad, iphones, macbooks...etc yes. Do they have weapons? for the most part no, and are they normally in their apartments when school is not in session? nope.

Oh shittttt.....I think the perp was my former coworker MANY years ago at Avent Ferry Food Lion, and he still worked there up until maybe last year or a few months ago (at least that's when I stopped noticing him while I shopped for groceries). He was a grocery manager??.

I, too, had a college apartment complex with a firearm prohibition clause in the lease.

I, too, disregarded said prohibition for just such a reason. Thankfully it never needed use, but in the even that I did need it, I'd be well past the point of giving a damn about that piece of paper.

I'd be kinda pissed if they shorted me $500 just because some dude broke into my apartment and I had to shoot him.

i know i'd be pretty messed up for a while, having to kill someone in my home like that. the deposit would be near the bottom of my list of worries.

I suppose so, yes. I was mostly just being facetious.

Still, I do wonder if they'll treat him fairly with regard to the deposit. The landlord has to list the reasons for any deductions. I guess it'll look roughly like "Weapons violation, $500, your total remittance, $0."

They would be smart to just give the dude his deposit and make this all go away quickly

Unless they want this to be a FOX NEWS ALERT

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some form of protest/boycott against WCA if they terminate the lease over this.

Personally, I don't think such prohibitions should be legal for housing units, but that's a tricky situation due to rentals of private property.

I'm sure his carpet was terrible before this happened. The replaced the 10+ year old, hunter green carpet in my gf's apartment with some carpet that you could bounce a basketball on.
