My Philadelphia photos, let me show you them. Saw the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were debated and signed, the Constitution Center, early copies of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and George Washington's copy of the Constitution, along with a printing of the Emancipation Proclamation signed by Lincoln, the pre-DC meeting places of the US Supreme Court, the House, and the Senate, the Betsy Ross House, and more.[Edited on August 5, 2013 at 9:25 PM. ^^Technically there is a Paddy's Pub in Philadelphia. It is on Race St between 2nd and 3rd (in Old City a few blocks from Mac's Tavern). Complete Dive Bar. I would stick with Mac's Tavern, but if you want the "full" experience you can hit that one up as well.

Got my cheesesteak today, went by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, by the Benjamin Franklin National Monument, ate at Reading Market, saw Pacific Rim at a real IMAX, and found an awesome ice cream place.

It's been 9 or 10 years since I visited so hopefully it got better, but man I was dissappointed in Philly. So much history and awesome things to see/visit, but the people sucked, the city/downtown was dirty, and there were homeless people everywhere.

Philly is such an amazing city. One of my favorites. Lots of cool neighborhoods, so many great restaurants and bars, and somehow it's still pretty affordable (that's probably changing fast, though). I love how narrow most of the streets are; it's built at a very human scale. 30th St StationPhilly has some of my favorite residential streets in the USRittenhouse Square is consistently named one of the best public spaces in the countryJim's Steaks is my favorite in the area around center city (ignore the tourist traps of Pat's and Geno's, but if you do go there choose Pat's)South Street is kind of a shitshow but funWould love to live on a street like this some dayReading Terminal is amazingIn addition to all of the famous murals, there's a lot of cool stuff like this

That's a legitimate complaint about an iconic American city. Calm down, Dawg.[Edited on August 7, 2013 at 10:10 AM. Reason : maybe not "the people" part]

Philly has definitely revitalized/gentrified significantly since 10 years ago. http://articles.philly.com/2011-03-21/news/29171563_1_center-city-district-downtown-hotel-rooms

Philadelphia is the trashiest city on the East Coast

^^ When we went to Philly last year (when that pic I posted was taken) I had a friend with me that had never been to Philly. He ate a Cheesesteak for every meal, even got a breakfast cheesesteak in the PHI airport the morning we left.I couldn't get him to eat one with Cheez Wiz on it though, which is the true Philly experience.[Edited on August 7, 2013 at 11:04 AM. ^^ It's definitely changed a lot. I hadn't been there in over a decade and was expecting the same things you describe. I saw none of it. Especially downtown and the South St. area.[Edited on August 7, 2013 at 1:50 PM. Reason : a]

^^it's even cooler than just that picture shows. That's the outside of the magic gardens, I'm hoping to go there this weekend actually. it's a massive mosaic garden, very beautiful http://www.phillymagicgardens.org/ ]

My only complaint about Philly is that on July 4th SEPTA delays/incompetence nearly resulted in me spending the night on a bench at the Trenton train station.
