Going in mid-October for a few days for my buddy's bachelor's party. What's around and what shouldn't we miss?

I would say to be careful, because Atlantic city eats people's souls

But you don't have much to worry about, do you?... Lucifer.

Revel is a pretty nice casino, but its going bankrupt because it charges Vegas prices in AC. Still worth a look.

only went for a weekend trip. it is like vegas if vegas sucked. can be fun for awhile but lacked variety and the food was way below vegas fare. i really don't have anything memorable about the place, if you haven't been to nyc the drive isn't too far.

Atlantic City was my escape from NYC when I lived there

I could take a cheap bus down and get a cheap room and walk along a beach and the whole time I wasn't in NYC at all. It was great.

Atlantic City is one of the more depressing places I've ever been to. Fancy casinos juxtaposed against extreme poverty and urban decline. You will not want to venture far from the strip.

Venturing away from the strip is the best part

Most of the casinos are pretty shitty. The newest one is the Revel, and it's pretty close to Vegas class. That's where we ended up staying. Everything about that place is expensive as fuck though.

The Tropicana actually seemed pretty decent, but we only went during Happy hour, and really only to one of the big bars in the lobby. Didn't gamble at all there, so I can't speak to that, but it looked nicer than a couple of other places we went. Trumps Taj Mahal looked dumpy inside and out.

As far as strip clubs go, stay away from AC Dolls. That place is a shithole, and besides the fact that the girls there are fugly as shit, they are also sketchy as fuck. I went there for a bachelor party back in March, and they drugged one of my friends and ran up $3000 in charges across 3 of his credit cards while he was passed out in the back. We just all thought he was having a good time cause when he went back there he wasn't that drunk, but when he came out an hour later it was barely able to stand up and ended up needed to be carried out. When he woke up the next morning all the money was gone from his wallet, and somebody else had signed his name on the back of his cards.

The newest and nicest casinos are Revel and the Borgata. If you are in the boardwalk area dont travel more than 2 blocks inward on foot. You can uses the jitney system instead of paying a cab to go across town. It is $2.25 per person I believe no matter where you go in the city.

There is a Imax in the Tropicana if you want to kill some time in the middle of the day. All the strip clubs are byob I believe but dont go to allure its a good ways from the area you will be and the cabbies get kickbacks to suggest it to tourist. Plus do not give them any of your credit/debit card info there has been numerous time where they charge 1000's of dollars on peoples cards after they get drunk.

There are a lot of really decent night clubs you can go to, but covers go from $20-$50 easily. If you want to gamble where to go depends on what you want to play. Poker is the most active at Borgata and Taj Mahal normally. Lots of Daily tournaments where you can get in for $50 bucks and play for hours. Table game minimums go up a night but during the day you can find $5 min tables at most places. Revel has a rapid roulette where you can bet on a computer, but the game is played with a live wheel. It has a bets as low as .50c. You can also find single 0 wheels at Tropicana, Show Boat, Harrah's, Caesar's but all are in the baccarat pits with a $25 minimum.

All the casinos have player club cards that normally have a bonus for first timers. You could get some free meals and future free rooms if you sign up before you play.

Ballys wild west has happy hour all day I believe $2 drafts and $2 shots on certain liquors.

Man, ain't that the truth.

Borgatta has BY FAR the hottest cocktail waitresses. My suggestion is to stay at one of the cheaper casinos close to the Borg and then spend most of your time at Borgatta. Harra's worked well for that the last time I was in AC.
