I'm pretty psyched for it, especially after seeing the pilot director's most recent film Miss Bala, which was insanely good.[Edited on July 10, 2013 at 3:27 PM. Reason : .]

I'm watching 30 minutes behind, which is basically live. Very excited about this show.
7/10/2013 10:40:33 PM
I couldn't stand the lead female character and turned it off. FX is quality but not sure this one is my cup of tea.
7/10/2013 10:52:35 PM
Well, she's supposed to be difficult. She has Asperger's. I dunno if that helps or anything.
7/10/2013 10:57:34 PM
Not really. I see what they are going for. Just seemed out of place.

It's weird seeing that dude from Weeds in that role.

^^AHAMy bad!^You know who is awesome to see from Weeds. This guy on Scandal:They killed killer, B![Edited on July 11, 2013 at 10:51 PM. Reason : Smaller pic?]
7/11/2013 10:50:21 PM
He's really good on Scandal....Kerry Washington's constant lip quivering? Not so much.
7/11/2013 11:15:34 PM
Yeah, he really is.I'm only a few episodes into season 2 so I'm not tired of Kerry Washington yet. She fine, and the president stuff is hot.
7/12/2013 12:52:11 AM
not sure if i want to get into Scandal or not. Do i really need another show? Now for The Bridge...very polished, interesting cast, Diane Kruger is playing up the disorder almost too much. I get it, brilliant detective with no social bearing. Ok I get that she's probably been able to keep her career due to the captain protecting her through most of her life on the force, but Kruger is playing this character more on the bratty 11 year old girl spectrum than the talented but flawed spectrum. here is to hoping they can balance that out some.[Edited on July 12, 2013 at 8:05 AM. Brilliant female investigator who is a little crazy...hmmm that sounds familiar
7/12/2013 8:35:02 AM
yeh, the girl is annoying as shit. hope that changes quickly. interesting concept, though I feel it's a bit slow and clunky. The reporter's plot was an interesting part.
7/12/2013 9:34:42 AM
I liked it, I'll watch for a few more weeks
7/12/2013 8:28:35 PM
I kinda got bored, but that's usually my fault so I'm gonna keep watching. Not sure if I should try to rewatch or just read about it.
7/12/2013 10:38:37 PM
Trying to figure out the relevance of heart attack guy.
7/14/2013 5:21:09 PM
human or drug smuggling, I'm sure
7/14/2013 5:22:40 PM
Something along those lines, yeah... Just felt like a very hurried subplot.

Anybody notice the el paso Sheriff deputy is buffalo bill from silence of the lambs?Dude was tripping me out, cause his voice will sound like James gumb every once in awhile.

^^ it's also the lead detective from the USA show Monk. he was also in The Fast and the Furious as Paul Walker's character's handler/boss.[Edited on July 17, 2013 at 1:55 PM. Reason : .]

so anyone watch Ep 2?
7/18/2013 11:13:48 AM
i love the lead characterlike love that she is somewhat off-putting, thats pretty cool
7/18/2013 11:17:32 AM
Last night's episode was a lot better than the pilot.
7/18/2013 2:19:05 PM
Agreed 2 and episode was better
7/18/2013 10:07:52 PM
Watched the first two episodes last night. Really like the series so far. The back-and-forth b/t Sonya and Ruiz is fucking hilarious. Sonya clearly has Aspergers, and I really, really appreciate that the writers are consistantly depicting that in her characters mannerism and interactions rather than just throwing some line of dialogue in you face like "HURR DURR I HAVE ASSBURGERS!!"At this point I feel like this series has a lot of potential, and I'll definitely keep watching. And I'm calling it now, it's the El Paso police captain guy.
7/21/2013 8:33:42 AM
^maybe you mean the chihuahua captain?
7/21/2013 12:59:23 PM
Nope, I mean the captain/ father figure to Sonya.
7/21/2013 2:03:40 PM
InterestingAny reason?[Edited on July 21, 2013 at 4:35 PM. Reason : this better not be because you watched the dutch version]
7/21/2013 4:34:42 PM
I think that whoever is driving the main plot is using these murders to focus attention to and fix corruption and "bigger" social problems than they are capable of tackling solo and within the bounds of the law. I don't believe that the person behind the body on the bridge, faux car bomb, and dead immigrants in the desert is the same guy as the creepy dude with the beard/sideburns. I think he, along with the drug lord in Juarez as well as the lady with the horse ranch are all potential targets that our villain mastermind will drive the deceives towards using his own brand of motivation. At this point my theory is that this is her captain's way of giving Sonya a case that will truly challenge and engage her. Something that will keep her occupied after he's "gone", as well as pairing her up with another strong male figure to take up the leading role in her life. We've already got evidence that this has been planned for at least 3 years. And who better to be bitter about social injustice than a near-retirement age police captain?Sorta like a going away present. She's already been perfectly set up as the quintessential tragically flawed protagonist. Now all we have to do is sit back and watch as the story resolves her of her issues, if possible. Not saying I'm right, but that's what I'd do if I was writing this shindig.[Edited on July 21, 2013 at 7:14 PM. Reason : no, no dutch version, just a hunch]
7/21/2013 7:12:59 PM
Okay I have a question. Did the creepy guy with the sideburns kill that Mexican girl? I mean he had her locked up in the trailer and then next thing you see is him burning two large trash bags of...what?You see him remove her cell phone from the jeans pocket, but the girl hadn't been wearing jeans. She had a dress on.
7/22/2013 2:26:59 PM
This is my favorite thing on TV right now
8/1/2013 9:56:54 PM
i really don't think it's the captain. caught up on the two most recent episodes last night. i like this show, but it hasn't gripped me to the point of appointment television like a lot of other FX shows.
8/7/2013 8:01:26 AM
I'm no longer sure it's the captain either, but they've yet to provide me with any compelling evidence that it's not him, so I'm still suspicious. After watching all the current episodes, my opinion of the show is that it's OK. Not great, but OK, and good enough to keep me watching for now. My major gripe is that to me, the writing doesn't have the same "polish" that other FX shows I like have (The Americans, Sons of Anarchy, etc). Mainly this is centered around characters making decisions that would normally never be made by anyone (who the fuck chases a serial-killer into dark, unlit warehouse alone, without telling anyone where you are going and without a weapon). I feel like it's a good story, but that it's still a little rough around the edges.
8/7/2013 9:34:50 AM
^i agreed with you until you made Sons of Anarchy an example of polished writing.
8/7/2013 9:36:45 AM
k, SoA is a stretch I'll give you that
8/7/2013 11:25:19 AM
is Kruger's character supposed to be foreign or does she just give bad accent?
8/7/2013 9:25:17 PM
Well she's German, so it's probably just her.
8/7/2013 9:58:46 PM
yea I realize she was German, have to be a REALLY terrible actress to be American and have her American accent sound foreign
8/7/2013 10:01:58 PM
Just when I was able to bear Sonya she reverts back to the whiney girl end of the aspergers spectrum in the first 5 minutes of this episode. ^i'm not picking up any issues with her accent. Also when did she become an American or an American actress only? Half of her work is in foreign cinema. [Edited on August 7, 2013 at 10:43 PM. Reason : Add]

Diane Kruger only has the tiniest of German accents in her regular speaking voice, but she has a very distinctive way of speaking that's out of the ordinary for English.
8/7/2013 10:45:34 PM
^yeah I think that tiniest hint is what is throwing me
8/7/2013 11:01:31 PM
