STOP MAKING THEM
6/16/2013 10:29:16 PM
I don't have a problem with the pops themselves, but cake pop makers are ridiculous and unnecessary.
6/16/2013 10:30:20 PM
I don't agree with settledown often, but when he's right he's right.
never heard of them...guess its cause i dont bleed for 3 days every month
6/16/2013 10:30:43 PM
A million times yes.
6/16/2013 10:30:49 PM
JUST MAKE A CAKE AND STOP THEREDO NOT CONTINUE TO THE POP MAKING STAGE
6/16/2013 10:32:12 PM
6/16/2013 10:32:41 PM
cake poops > cake pops
6/16/2013 10:33:11 PM
God, just GIS 'cake pops' and look at the idiocy.
6/16/2013 10:33:57 PM
meh, I can get behind this
6/16/2013 11:38:46 PM
Never had one, but it looks like a dumb idea.I'd have to eat like 20 of those things to make a slice of cake.[Edited on June 16, 2013 at 11:45 PM. Reason : ^ Who made the Tyler Hansbrough cake pop?]
6/16/2013 11:45:00 PM
we're not allowed to eat food anymore so we make muppets out of it instead of just burning it like we should
6/16/2013 11:49:34 PM
I've had them on a few occasions at Starbucks. They're like extra fudgey cake, and they're a fun treat.I've never felt compelled to make my own cake pops, but I also don't bake. And I'm kinda glad I don't bake. I've eaten the entirety of many things--a whole bag of cheetos, a whole watermelon, a whole pizza, etc...but moving into baked goods territory would just be too depressing: "I ate 43 cake pops last night. "^^LOL @ Hansbrough

Challenge accepted.
6/17/2013 12:18:53 AM
WTF? The whole point of cake is to be fluffy. If these mofos are dense then I'm glad I'm allergic to these cakefails on a stick.
6/17/2013 12:22:23 AM
^ What are you allergic to that's in them and not in normal cake?And... that's why they're not just mini cupcakes. They're a separate entity of their own, they're fudgey and very rich and very sweet. Also absurdly time consuming, hence why I've made them... maybe 5 times in the past year?[Edited on June 17, 2013 at 12:28 AM. Reason : c]
6/17/2013 12:27:26 AM
^^I dunno...your fluffiness requirement seems pretty provincial.[Edited on June 17, 2013 at 12:29 AM. Reason : ]
6/17/2013 12:28:43 AM
If I want something dense then I want a brownie. If I want something fluffy and sweet then I want cake.I can't have gluten and I'm willing to make gluten free cupcakes a couple times a year, but cake pops are on the oh hell no it's too much work list. Right up there with pop-tarts and blueberry pies and doughnuts. Delicious but not worth it. Plus I've never had a cake pop, so I'd have zero idea of what to aim for.
6/17/2013 12:49:58 AM
I understand what you think cake is. No need to explain it again.I'm saying you're wrong.I'm not even a cake lover or anything.[Edited on June 17, 2013 at 1:26 AM. Reason : just sayin']
6/17/2013 1:25:55 AM
i agree and think they taste awful. Not a calorie worthy treat.
6/17/2013 8:04:25 AM
I've only had them once. they were at some party I went to. I thought they were freaking amazeballs. Idk whose cake pops y'all have been eating but I would eat againbut there is no way I give enough fucks to make them
6/17/2013 8:06:36 AM
my wife brought some home from a baby shower or something. i thought they were good.
6/17/2013 8:08:47 AM
I had some bad cake pops this weekend. Way too doughy/dense/sweet. Now I won't have to fight the desire to buy them every time I go into a Starbucks.
6/17/2013 8:24:46 AM
The power of the Starbucks cake pop is that I can hand it to my little boy and enjoy my coffee in silence.
6/17/2013 9:06:36 AM
I, too, think they're dumb. The process to make them is even dumber.
6/17/2013 9:21:59 AM
my wife tried to make cake pops for our soni tell you what though- they were dank and delicious
6/17/2013 9:25:28 AM
i tend to agree with this pointless ... give me a cupcake instead please
6/17/2013 12:58:23 PM
never heard of these until this past weekend at a friend's birthdaythe ones i had were amazing and delicious...i assume they're comparatively expensive, so i wouldn't buy them myself, but i thoroughly enjoyed eating themsame with cupcake shops and froyo places on every corner...these seem to be fads that will fade away over time, but i enjoy them all while they're here
6/17/2013 1:03:03 PM
god, this stupid asian girl i work with made some once for her coworkers. as i was eating it in disgust she told me it was green tea cake and icing. BARF ... nasty
6/17/2013 1:11:40 PM
never tried a true "cake pop" but i got something that was similar at Carly C's that was fucking awesome. It was more dense and a little more gooey than "normal" cake, which to me is good. it was also dipped in chocolate as opposed to regular icing.
6/17/2013 1:57:55 PM
6/17/2013 2:29:08 PM
most cake pops I've ever seen or eaten are dipped in chocolatethe icing is mixed in with the cake and then someone rolls it around in their hands to form the ball
6/17/2013 2:30:24 PM
JLCayton first learns about cake pops ITT
6/17/2013 2:32:10 PM
I have never had a cake pop
6/17/2013 3:14:58 PM
I too have never had a cake pop. They look stale
6/17/2013 3:18:51 PM
Yes they do. I think that's why I never got one.
6/17/2013 3:26:43 PM
They're terrible...it's one bite of cake. The fuck? I need like 10 to feel satisfied.
6/17/2013 4:47:27 PM
fatties ITTI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
6/17/2013 4:50:22 PM
^^You have to take small bites and eat it slowly. Plus, it's on a stick so you can even try to be sexy about it.
6/17/2013 5:03:01 PM
there is nothing sexier than the slow biting, chewing, consumption, and immediate digestion of a semi-phallic object.
6/17/2013 5:05:30 PM
AHA, I said you could try.
6/17/2013 5:06:15 PM
homemade cake pops are pretty neatstore bought cake pops are a way for starbucks to charge you $3 for a single bite of cake
6/17/2013 7:07:32 PM
They're like $1.50, and like everything everywhere, they're definitely a ripoff.I swear I'm not a big fan or anything, but I'm surprised that everybody hates them so much and feels comfortable getting vocal about it.I mean, I've thought cupcakes were stupid this whole time, and I never said a word. But, yeah, let's pay $5 to eat 12 servings of icing and sit there going OMG, THIS IS SO GOOD, like it's some kind of revelation that butter and sugar taste delicious. Also, cake/brownie mixes...they're lazy and stupid, ladies. I started declining all of your baked goods some time ago because the Duncan Hines garbage is insulting, and it must stop. If you're gonna beg me to eat something that you've made, you've got to bring me something good. Mixing up butter and sugar in a bowl and then forcing other people to eat it does not mean you love to bake. I actually think it makes you some kind of sadist.
6/17/2013 8:06:44 PM
One of my co-workers bakes all the time, but she does that shit up right. She actually makes everything herself. No mixes, no canned icing, none of that stuff. I still won't eat much of it though because it's so ridiculously horrible for me.
6/17/2013 8:29:11 PM
6/18/2013 10:24:23 AM
cake pops are stupidi don't want a tiny piece of superdense cake coated in fondant that was made for looks and not taste with a stick running all up in iti imagine they are loved by people who go to a bar and scream at the bartender to "make me something funnnnnnnnnnn"
6/18/2013 12:04:41 PM
maybe you just had some gross ones. i've had a few at parties/weddings and they were pretty good.
6/18/2013 12:08:36 PM
i work with an amazing baker tooi've often asked her why she doesnt quit and open up her own place. she makes everything from scratch too and everything is fraking amazeballs
6/18/2013 12:22:31 PM
Better than Cake Farts.
