WIll improve in Directors Cup Standings. Appreciate
6/21/2013 1:00:37 AM
So these are the standings as of a week ago http://thedirectorscup.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/june14DIstandings.pdfWe are 37th in the nation...not too shabby...Stanford, Florida and Michigan are the top-3...UNC 10, Duke 11, FSU 14, UVA 21...so we're 5th in the conference...or 6th if you include Notre Dame who is 7thwonder what the rankings would be if they only include the sports people care about
6/21/2013 1:06:29 AM
yah us not playing half the sports has to hurt us right ? i mean fuck, UNC got 100 pts on woman's lacross....
6/21/2013 1:10:57 AM
Non revenue sports are important too. Budget spent on that is rewarded in the Cup Standings
6/21/2013 1:14:23 AM
No points for Men's Track & Field??

The Dog Fowler Days are Ovaaahaaaa
6/21/2013 9:05:35 AM
Once the CWS is over we'll likely jump up a few spots. They take the top 10 women's and men's sports. Since we literally have only 10 varsity sports for men and women, they all count.UNC for example has 12 men and 14 women sports. We added women's softball a few years ago. Wonder if there are any plans to add additional non-revenue sports?[Edited on June 21, 2013 at 10:37 AM. Reason : h]
6/21/2013 10:36:12 AM
She's stated recently there isn't.

Doak is getting a Batter's Eye.+1?
6/21/2013 10:59:59 AM
NC State finished 34th in the final Directors' Cup standings. Pack was fifth among current ACC teams.
6/27/2013 12:29:23 PM
6/27/2013 12:41:44 PM
She is doing what she set out to do. Hopefully we can get into that Top-25 range. Improving in some of the really awful sports like womens volleyball would help us out a lot.
6/27/2013 12:45:54 PM
^volleyball just had their best season of the past 25 years and made it to the ncaa tournament.
6/27/2013 1:16:20 PM
Updated historical numbers:2009-2010: Fall - 85; Winter - 88; Final - 89 (last year under Fowler)2010-2011: Fall - 52; Winter - 71; Final - 67 (Yow's first year)2011-2012: Fall - 38; Winter - 41; Final - 372012-2013: Fall - 41; Winter - 37; Final - 34There's some room to grow - but not much. Since we only have 10 women and 10 mens sports, you have to do well in everything. A bad year in any sport can't be offset since every sport counts. We need women's bowling...
6/27/2013 2:53:47 PM
I've seen it a few times on here, but I'm not sure where people are getting we have 20 varsity sports.
6/27/2013 3:17:09 PM
Yeah, but I don't think Cheerleading (M&W) and Rifle are considered in the director's cup. Hence the 20 sports.
6/27/2013 3:37:43 PM
The 20 sports (10 men and 10 women) is coming from what the Director's Cup gives points for. I think if all 23 of our sports finished where they would get points for the Director's Cup standings, our standing would be made up of the best 10 men and 10 women scores.
6/27/2013 3:40:26 PM
Sorry, looks like rifle is considered. But not cheerleading (at least I couldn't find it). So 21 sports.^ We only have 21 sports that are considered for the director's cup. Cheerleading isn't considered in the rankings for anyone.[Edited on June 27, 2013 at 3:43 PM. Reason : ^]
6/27/2013 3:41:32 PM
The extra 2 comes from the separation of track & field into indoor and outdoor.
6/27/2013 3:42:56 PM
Ah. I stand corrected. The confusion was the gopack site listing 23 varsity sports which included cheerleading. They don't break T&F into indoor and outdoor.[Edited on June 27, 2013 at 3:46 PM. Reason : ^]
6/27/2013 3:45:41 PM
I hear ya. The NCAA breaks track and field into indoor and outdoor and both have their own national title meets, but the same athletes can compete in both, so that's why GoPack just lists the track and field team. Cheerleading is a "varsity" sport for us, but we don't use it for Title IX and never have. The NCAA doesn't sanction a national title for cheerleading, that's the NCA/NDA.
6/27/2013 8:38:28 PM
In regards to the director's cup...
7/3/2013 4:25:14 PM
At the spring game.Wow.Her tits are amazing.
4/12/2014 1:32:08 PM

Men and women bball finish their OOC schedules a combined 25-1. Much appreciation.
12/30/2018 4:57:33 PM
She’s done a wonderful job. Wonder who the replacement will be?
12/30/2018 5:20:20 PM
12/30/2018 5:25:11 PM
Still trueNot Debbie's job to evaluate talent, is her job to do everything to get them compliant. Two very tough cases that were made eligible.
12/30/2018 6:10:15 PM
We’ve been good at getting dudes eligible/extending eligibility. Terry Henderson is the only situation I can recall where it didn’t go in our favor. I’m sure there’s a couple others, but i feel like we were on the plus side of most of the appeals for eligibility or appeals for an extra year.
12/30/2018 6:16:26 PM
Henderson didn't have a chance. And I wasn't laughing at Debbie. I was laughing at the fact that we worked to get them eligible and their contribution to the program was negligible. Essentially I'm laughing at Gottfried.
12/30/2018 6:33:09 PM
we actually need to find a way to get her to delay retirementthere's no guarantee her replacement wont be some fucking mook that will ruin our situation, which is pretty dang good right now
12/30/2018 6:34:27 PM
^^yeah Hendy was a long shot all along. But yeah Gott deserves every bit of the jokes^i wonder if she’ll have much say in her successor? Most of her other hires have been pretty good[Edited on December 30, 2018 at 7:06 PM. Reason : A]
12/30/2018 7:06:03 PM
Hopefully we won't need any major hires for awhile.
