this reminds me I need to get one of those DD donut breakfast sandwiches at some point
6/6/2013 10:28:03 PM
People are fucking scalping these things in NY...buying for $5 and selling for $20. It started getting bad enough to the point where the bakery limited it to 2 cronuts per customer.
6/6/2013 11:11:43 PM
wait, so is it a doughnut-shaped croussant or a layered doughnut?
6/7/2013 1:23:28 AM
Layered croissant dough in donut shape, with additives, pastry cream, et cetera.
6/7/2013 1:38:08 AM
^It also looks like it has been deep fried like a doughnut. So it's a deep fried croissant, and it must be incredible.
6/7/2013 2:42:54 AM
no no it's not a deep fried croissant, you can make those at homethis is only available in NEW YORK!
6/7/2013 3:08:27 AM
To me it looks like a flaky biscuit to me.
6/7/2013 3:49:53 AM
There's a massive fucking line filled with tourists in front of you before you can get these. No thank you.

my group at work went there after lunch the other week cus one of my coworkers was raving about these things. we got there and the manager told us they sold out at 7:30 am. i'm like wtf. i got some pretty nummers macarons instead though
6/7/2013 9:22:39 AM
yeah don't bother going until all the hype dies down lol. it's been weeks, though.they need to be able to create more supply to respond to their demand.. like Georgetown Cupcake. Not sure how much labor is involved to make one of these things butDO WANT.
6/7/2013 10:18:35 AM
Supposedly the thing with cronuts is that they're highly perishable, so there is limit to how much they can do. A lot of it is just them still not making enough, probably artificially to maintain the craze.
