Just like last year. There is a thread linked below to discuss New 2013 television series pilots and to check out some trailers.

message_topic.aspx?topic=636853

Not every pilot is thread worthy and not every show will make it past the opening handful of episodes. So let's use this thread to discuss new shows, premiere dates, cancellations, etc.

here is a good line-up grid to see what's on where this coming fall (network TV only).

As it updates I will update the attached image.

to be honest i'm less than thrilled with the upcoming season. Once again NBC seems to have some interesting pilots. But i'm so far beyond trusting that network with anything that I won't be getting too attached.

EDIT: 9/17 updated calendar

Weird, I thought Grimm to Tuesday night was working well, guess not well enough, back to Friday it goes.

I guess it's more in the summer than the fall but the only new show I'm interested in is Axe Cop. I was interested in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD until I saw what it was.

Of the old shows I still like Bob's Burgers. I'll watch Parks and Rec but it is hanging by a thread.

hanging by a thread on your DVR in terms of liking the show or in renewal status? because it's been renewed for a full 22 episode season.

^^In terms of liking the show. Last season there were several episodes in a row that I didn't really like and with the Office being in the state it was in I just stopped tuning in on Thursdays. I probably missed more than half of the last season, I should go back and watch.

I'd prefer it stay on Friday nights. Little to no pressure and allows it to survive with mediocre (by other network's standards) ratings since it will never be a huge hit. Basically, it's following the Smallville "How to stay on TV for 10 years" blueprint.

surprisingly yes. but this thread deals with network and cable. but there is a lot less change in terms of cable scheduling and the number of new series that it doesn't need it's own huge chart.

right, and at some point networks realize that moving a show to another timeslot will not grow an audience. but for an established show a small but dedicated following is better than no following. Recent series like Chuck and Fringe come to mind. Dedicated viewership and small, but consistent ratings allowed the networks to keep supporting them when other shows were cancelled.

but Grimm, i believe, is one of NBC's real true "hits", even when it's small compared to other networks

Oh I'm totally behind Grimm staying on Friday, but I thought it proved it could handle a Tuesday time-slot fairly well, esp. for NBC standards. I like it being on a night that isn't really competitive so it's able to stay on as long as possible.

Friday night use to be the night they sent shows to die, now it appears to be Saturday night(unless you're Doctor Who).

^^Tuesday is usually FX's big night. Sons of Anarchy in the fall, Justified in the Spring.

also Fox's New Girl and Mindy Project which are two very good comedies. that's about it for me besides Person of Interest moving to Tuesdays this fall. but that one is always a DVR for me.

^this summer i think, on the CW

Wouldn't it make sense to put The Originals on after Vampire Diaries on Thursdays?

Previews for some of the new shows on The CW:

^^if a show is good it can carry it's weight and be worth of it's own thread. but half of these shows will be cancelled before halloween.

If i'm blown away by a show i'll be the first to create a dedicated thread for it. but until then this is the best gathering place to get a sense of how we're all reacting to these new shows.

don't really need those qualifiers. my point was cable shows, especially those on the premium channels, do typically warrant their own threads.

also out of curiousity what thread(s) caused you to post this as a reminder:

The Michael J. Fox show wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'll tune in for a couple more.

Goldbergs - Awful. immediately dropped.

Crazy Ones - pretty bad as well, even with Robin Williams. Will not be tuning back in.

Trophy Wife - probably going to get cancelled, but this was my favorite of the new comedies. laughed a lot throughout.

MJ Fox Show, I agree. Entertaining, but not the funniest comedy out there. They seem like they're trying to straddle a weird line. Sometimes throwing the Parkinson's in your face to make you laugh, and other times treating it with kidd gloves. Maybe that's the point, I'm not sure...

I kind of liked The Crazy Ones, I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it hits a better stride. The Pilot was enough to not turn me away completely.

The Crazy Ones beat The MJ Fox Show head-to-head in ratings. Sounded like NBC wasn't thrilled with the MJF show ratings but are committed to letting it play out as long as the ratings don't crash.

One of my friends said he immediately didn't like The MJ Fox Show because his character in the show's name isn't "Michael J. Fox", haha. Didn't think about it, but it's a pretty good point.

Goldbergs. Yeah it was pretty bad, I had some high hopes for it but it was terrible.

Trophy Wife. I really loved it. I'm not sure if I thought it was awesome because I watched it right after I saw The Goldbergs or if it actually was good. I'll watch it again.

I watched the 2nd episode of The Goldbergs and it was much much better. It's crazy how much the dad and mom are exactly like my parents. Right down to the underwear and thermostat and the "eww girl stuff" I'm glad the mother's hair and make-up are better

This season of Carrie Diaries is just as good as last season. I think I'm the only person in the worled actually watching, but I'm still enjoying it.

Also, Olivia Pope on Scandal has the best loungewear. She looks so comfortable.

I've got the ADHD, and I can't sit still for my shows. I've watched all the interesting pilots, but I haven't picked up any new shows for the season. And I'm finally dropping Vampire Diaries, Sons of Anarchy, Scandal, and Boardwalk Empire. I want an indoor hoop with a giant television so I can drink, chain smoke, and shoot free throws while I watch TV.

^Yes, I remembered you watched it! I made that post for you basically.
