LinkedIn has become more of a big deal as it has gotten older. It's important for networking, and as a psudeo online resume. Anyone who works in a professional capacity should at least have a profile and keep it updated. Folks who LI isn't important for: people who have long-term stable jobs that don't plan on finding something new (teachers, police officers, ect.), and those who don't work professional jobs (garbage man, McDonalds clerk, waitress).

linked in is a good tool for anyone in business or technical professions. it's a professional network that will be valuable when you're changing jobs, looking for clients or other leads where a network is important.LI takes a long time to grow, so do it now if you haven't already. it'll pay off down the road.
