How in the hell do I find my selective service number when the freaking government website is down ( http://www.sss.gov )??Also, on a marginally related note, if you have a phone with NO CAMERA for sale I may be interested

Had to this for my job application recently. Don't remember .

Wow, I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to dig this up if the .gov website is down. It's one of those identifying numbers that you have absolutely no reason to know.
6/2/2013 5:37:32 PM
ha. I still have my form with my selective service info on it. Not because I'm really organized or anything. I'm just to lazy to grab it and throw it away every time I see it
6/2/2013 7:32:29 PM
hm. I'm not even sure I knew I had a dedicated selective service number. TMYK.
6/2/2013 7:38:48 PM
I didn't either but apparently it exists. It's for a security clearance, you'd think the DOD could handle that part when you clicked the "Registered for Selective Service" button

Wonder if the NCSU dept of reg and rec has it? Or maybe your HS?

You'll probably just want to leave your phone in the car. You can't get a decent smartphone these days that doesn't have a camera. You'll also probably have a work phone at your desk given where you're going. Also yay the website works again.

For his job, it's probably worth it to have a cell on him. Not always at the desk.
6/3/2013 4:33:05 PM
Then he can make his code buy it for him.

i think phones without cameras are illegal now anyway. well, you need a special license but seriously wtf
6/3/2013 6:49:45 PM
^wat?

I'd be surprised if they even let you have a cellphone without a camera. I mean, yeah, you can take pictures and shit, but a cellphone is also a damned good audio recording device...

^^ Things are different where we work.^ Depends on your office. I work in a group that doesn't do all those fun "special" things, so I can bring a camera phone in with me to work as long as I don't take any pictures of anything. Basically they're relying on us to be adults and not break the rules. To enforce it they send NCIS through checking for cellular signals and verifying that people don't have camera phones where they aren't supposed to. If you do, *yoink* and I think you can even lose your job. Well, one person did.

I think I took ^^^^ out of context. Oh well, I see now. Apparently you can buy an iPhone 4S without a camera in Singapore.http://asia.cnet.com/hands-on-apple-iphone-4s-without-camera-62213320.htm
