Somebody explain the bobcats draft trades to me. They have the pistons and blazers first round picks but not if they're top 12, so they just get nothing?

There are only two 1st round picks in play here. They aren't getting the Pistons & Blazers pick each year through 2016. If they don't get it this year, it just rolls over to the next year's stipulation. They'll get something at least by 2016 when the picks are unprotected.

I like how everyone is having these fond memories of the Charlotte Hornets. they were mainly a BAD franchise . we had couple of runs but we never made it deep in the playoffs. Zo and Larry couldn't stand each other. we drafted kobe and got Vlade Divac in a horrible outcome. they fell on their faces more than not.


Purple and teal are horrible colors. I mean borderline suspect colors. Grown men cant be wearing that shit in public. i use to rock the hell out the windbreaker when i was kid too. emphasis on " when i was a kid" I saw a charlotte hornets hat in the store last week and I still dont know what the hell I was thinking.


also why does New Orleans get to change their name right away but we cant?

we weren't as great as some would like to remember, but they also weren't as bad as you're making it sound

but we were also 1 game away from the Eastern Finals back in 02 or 03...beat the shit out of the Heat 3-0 in the first round with Mashburn and PJ playing against their former team...average margin of victory was like 25 points...faced off against the Shuttlesworth / Alien / Big Dog Bucks in round 2, got down 0-2 after the first 2 games in Milwaukee, won the next 2 in Charlotte, won game 5 back in Milwaukee (this was the BD/D-Wes/Mash/PJ/Big Homey team with guys like Eddie Robinson coming off the bench), then a heartbreaking late-game Ray Allen 3 pointer in the Charlotte Coliseum (RIP) tied the series and sent it back to their place where they beat us in game 7...we wouldve faced the Nets, Kidd in his prime with an up and coming Richard Jefferson and Byron Scott on the sidelines...probably wouldve lost the series but couldve shocked the world only to get dominated by Shaq and Kobe

Game 7 at Milwaukee...didn't they get T'd up for only 4 guys coming back on the court, due to Derrick Coleman not getting off his ass & into the game? I believe they lost by 1, maybe 2.

Coleman was already gone that year, thank goodness...can't remember what happened in game 7 except I watched it from somewhere in upstate New York and basically it was already over when we let them win Game 6

worked construction with some guy from around Syracuse and they gave Coleman a summer job one year when he was in college...said he was the laziest guy he'd ever met

I remember about just 3 to 4 years ago I had debate with a co worker ( insane kobe fan). If the hornets kept kobe would we they have championships? I was like "no way, needs big man". He was like "yes at least 2". however I cried at mere possibility that my favorite team could of had championships.
