poor writeup, WRAL

here's the proposal:

Quote :

pets should not be allowed to be on athletic fields

sorry pet owners, but you are doing a terrible job of keeping your animal on a leash and picking up their shit. its time to ban them completely from athletic fields.

I'm down with no pets on the athletic fields at all, ever. Also, pets must be on a leash except in designated "dog park" areas which are fenced in.

when we lived in a townhouse, i admit in taking our dog to athletic fields but i would pick up after her. but there were a lot of folks that didn't

i did it b/c she's just not down with the dog parks. she just stands there and backs her ass in to a corner because she doesn't like other dogs sniffing her butt she kinda fails as a dog, really. she's more like a very large cat, high maintenance cat.

Every time I take my dog to the park to play ball, there's always another dog owner who walks up and we talk about how terrible it is that people won't pick up their dog's shit. There are even bags all over the place so it's not like there is a logical excuse. I just hate they have to ruin it for those of us who are good owners.

I''ll probably still take my dog in the park either way. Pete and I break all rules when we ball.

drawing a blank...what's the park that has trails and tons of natural areas in raleigh where you used to be able to take your dog (or still might?)...i think it was somewhere a few miles off of blue ridge and you had to park on a gravel drive. it's been 9 or so years since i last took my dog.
