5/12/2013 10:27:30 PM
i dosame six discs for almost a year, aside from the occasional cd-r people give me
5/12/2013 10:28:05 PM
I have 4 that have been stuck in my cd changer for more than a year. Can't even remember what they are because it won't play.
5/12/2013 10:28:45 PM
I do. For years I had the same 6. I just changed those to a new usual 6 when we recently got our van (vanlife...), and I change those out to 6 of Christmas music the day after thanksgiving.[Edited on May 12, 2013 at 10:36 PM. Reason : ]

I have a Rawdog cd in my car. Basically if a band gives me a cd it stays in my car unless its amazing then I put it on my PC.I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
5/12/2013 10:59:38 PM
I do
5/12/2013 11:16:15 PM
I got that
5/12/2013 11:18:19 PM
CDs and their superior sound quality are good shit. I usually keep a half dozen or so in my car.

I resent the implication of the OPI mean I'm in my 20s and knew what a CD was since my pre-teen years
5/12/2013 11:51:54 PM
more like pre-cum years, AMIRITE?that was a horrible poast. i'm sorry [Edited on May 12, 2013 at 11:52 PM. Reason : ]

well tbqh I wasn't able to cum until I was a teen, but I think most guys were like that
5/12/2013 11:57:20 PM
Yes, a mix CD left and then donated by a friend. It primarily features Akon and Justin Timberlake. I also keep a burned copy of Tina Fey's Bossy Pants.
5/13/2013 12:05:33 AM
shit, I'm in my 20s and remember when cassette players were standard equipmentI've got a 6 disc changer in the Subaru. Most of the CDs I have are from high school, but I still make some occasionally just in case I don't have my mp3 player some day.
5/13/2013 12:06:06 AM
CDs, yes, tapes, no. Haven't had tapes in a car in years...
5/13/2013 12:28:42 AM
HAHA. No. Got that 190%[Edited on May 13, 2013 at 12:33 AM. Reason : ,]

No CDs anymore. All music is on the hard drive in the car and on my phone.
5/13/2013 12:36:40 AM
i'd like to know if whatever bucket H8R whips has a factory hard drivesince my Infiniti does, even though NMSJ and stuff
5/13/2013 12:41:02 AM
I have tapes, but most of them are new things that have come out in the past two years or so.
5/13/2013 12:49:07 AM
lol tapesreal music connoisseurs have record players in their 1950s or 1960s era American cars
5/13/2013 12:51:16 AM
Yes
5/13/2013 1:00:14 AM
I still have about 50 CDs in my car, mainly ones that I have purchased recently. However my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 takes a USB thumb drive and I mainly listen to the 32GB one I have plugged in. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KDCX994/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X994.html?search=Kenwood+KDCX994&tp=5684

There's no elitism is tapes. They're just cheaper to make than CDs, which means more profit for the musician when selling a physical product at a price that someone at a show will still pay ($5).
5/13/2013 1:24:45 AM
I still buy the majority of music in CD form and I listen to them in my horseless carriage.
5/13/2013 1:26:27 AM
yeah I got a couple C-DEEZ NUTS!
5/13/2013 1:28:40 AM
5/13/2013 1:30:55 AM
They are, but tapes are just as cheap, and tape cases, inserts, and duplication are even cheaper.Plus, a download card is more convenient than ripping a CD.
5/13/2013 1:43:30 AM
My gf's car only has a tape deck. They cost about a quarter at a thrift store and are pretty durable. I'm a fan.
5/13/2013 8:51:36 AM
5/13/2013 9:07:25 AM
i would still rock tapes if my truck had a deck for it. i just have zero use for CDs anymore. I ripped almost everything i own to my external HDD, then to my classic iPod. with that, Spotify, and SiriusXM i haven't had the need for a CD in years.
5/13/2013 9:07:31 AM
CDs have superior sound quality than mp3s. I don't listen to them often but I still do. Got 12 or so CDs in one car, zero in the other.
5/13/2013 9:09:41 AM
I'm not sure what kind of MP3s you're talking about, but if you can tell the difference between CDDA and VBR V2 (about 190kbps), you must have superhuman hearing.
5/13/2013 9:11:26 AM
I do. I have two of these things:Both full, mostly of MP3 CDs with 5-9 albums on each disc. If I want to listen to a certain genre I find a disc that has albums from that genre and listen to a few albums before changing discs. Queuing up music on the iPod/Phone kind of sucks.

I don't even have a CD or tape player in my car. Just a head unit made to control my ipod. My wife has a cassette deck and an ipod transmitter but no CD player either.[Edited on May 13, 2013 at 9:42 AM. Reason : ]

I do. I use it to scrape ice off the windshield.
5/13/2013 10:04:34 AM
I have a case of CDs under the driver's seat, but I haven't listened to one since I got my Sirius back in 2006. Funny enough, I was wiping down my dash on Saturday and I accidentally hit the eject button on the CD player. Out popped a Dancehall Reggae mix CD with the date 10/13/2005 on it.
5/13/2013 10:06:59 AM
nope. Last car without an AUX input was sold with my CDs in it on accident.
5/13/2013 10:19:01 AM
I think they're in the bak of the Jeep somewhere
5/13/2013 10:37:46 AM
anyone up to date on cd player installation prices? got a quote on a $90 sony unit for my 2008 ford escape yesterday..the total w/ tax is $220. that includes the mounting kit, harness, antenna adapter and labor. i thought that was a little pricey being that the player is only $90.
6/9/2013 3:37:05 PM
mounting kit, harness, and antenna adapter cost at least $50 retail, so you're looking at $80 for laborI would not consider that pricey
6/9/2013 3:43:40 PM
when I was prepping my car to trade-in this week, I tried to remove the CDs that were in the cd changer, un-used for 3+ years...they wouldn't eject I wonder if they melted in there or something
