http://www.politicususa.com/eric-cantor-admits-paul-ryan-driving-force-sequester.htmlEric Cantor has confirmed that he and Paul Ryan talked John Boehner out of accepting a “Grand Bargain” with Obama in 2011. It was this rejection that led to the sequester...

i don't understand why people that bitch so much about the federal debt act like the sequester is some horrible awful thing. it's only about 1/100 of what is actually required to get the budget in line anyways. can you imagine the outrage if politicians actually tried to do anything remotely close to being relevant to our budget woes?
5/4/2013 3:12:05 PM
^ it probably has to do with 1) the awful way it was implemented, and 2) the fact that it wasn't designed to be a budget cutting measure, but instead a political persuasion tool.
5/4/2013 3:21:18 PM
The sequester is going away agency by agency, in the order of who has the most powerful lobbyists, or how much congressmen themselves are inconvenienced. See: FAA.If it was only a political tool that was supposed to extract something out of Republicans, it is failing.

This is literally a do-nothing congress and there isn't much any single person can do about it.
5/4/2013 6:05:44 PM
It's Obamas fault. He doesn't do a good job wrangling the congress. That is probably an area where is he was older, he might could have related better.
5/4/2013 6:53:25 PM
Or maybe if he wasnt a condescending dickhead everytime he opened his mouth the immature brats in congress wouldnt stick it to him "just because."
5/4/2013 6:58:48 PM
Obama has literally offered to compromise to positions more right than what the right originally asked for and had those offers deniedso you are dumb
5/4/2013 7:02:35 PM
5/4/2013 7:37:21 PM
oh i'm sorry, was that not at the same level of discourse as your condescending dickhead statement? was it above it or below it?
5/4/2013 7:40:39 PM
I usually peg most terribly constructed thoughts below myself, but I do have very high self esteem.
5/4/2013 7:47:43 PM
Obama has literally offered to compromise to positions more right than what the right originally asked for and had those offers deniedso you are a condescending dickhead[Edited on May 4, 2013 at 7:56 PM. Reason : so by your metric, that should be on par with your statement]
5/4/2013 7:55:56 PM
You must have missed the "immature brats" part of my statement. You also write like a 9th grader.
5/4/2013 8:07:52 PM
i disagree, dickhead is more 5th grade than 9th
5/4/2013 8:09:18 PM
Dickhead is a fine word, and I understood what you were saying. I agree with you, but I dont appreciate you focusing on my critique of Obama while breezing over my critique of Congress.Either you have poor reading comprehension skills or dont understand partisan politics, but either way I feel like this is going to be a pretty short lived thread.Ill leave you with a better sentence:"Obama has literally offered to compromise on positions more right than what was originally offered; these were denied."
5/4/2013 8:12:25 PM
*to positions

5/4/2013 8:16:04 PM
No, that was the biggest problem I had with your sentence. Im no English teacher, but I would mark it as "awkward" on a student paper.I wouldnt count off for it though.Of course the rest of it was awkward too; not quite a train-wreck.[Edited on May 4, 2013 at 8:17 PM. Reason : -]
5/4/2013 8:16:20 PM
on a left-right scale, he moved his positions to the righton doesn't work in that sentence
5/4/2013 8:16:56 PM
Ok shitface, instead of this tit-for-tat bullshit why dont you resume your 3-word-per-day analysis of that gun control article that is so far beneath you?Its really hard to take such a cultured 9th grader seriously.
5/4/2013 8:18:41 PM
it was a few pages per dayi've only looked at it for less than one day
5/4/2013 8:19:38 PM
It must not be very important to you then.Anyway, lets not derail this silly thread.
5/4/2013 8:21:31 PM
Yep. It can't possibly be the fault of any other the other 300 people who voted for it. It certainly can't also be the fault of a Democratically controlled Senate or a Democratic President who signed it into law. Nope. The fault can ONLY be with two guys for whom I have a major hate-based hard-on
5/4/2013 10:00:41 PM
nope
5/4/2013 10:09:30 PM
Ryan doesn't have the balls to stand by his handiwork. Says Obama wanted the sequester to pass http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2013/05/03/1950651/ryan-epa-sequester/?mobile=wp
5/5/2013 11:34:55 AM
^^^AS LONG AS ANY DEMOCRATS WERE INVOLVED IT WAS ALL THERE FAULT OMG
5/5/2013 7:44:36 PM
ummm, no, I'm not a partisan hack. It's everyone in Washington's fault and the fault of everyone who doesn't vote these clowns out of office.
5/5/2013 11:22:37 PM
You know I was going to make a post, but sometimes just having aaronburro post the opposite of your stance is a strong enough argument.

that's why weather forecasting should be privatized
5/6/2013 6:29:54 PM
You really don't want to go there...
5/6/2013 6:32:30 PM
hence the " "
5/6/2013 7:14:11 PM
i mean, i have an app on my phone, why do i need government weather forecasters?
5/6/2013 7:20:32 PM
^^ ^ Yeah, like the douchebag congressperson who openly asked why we need the National Weather Service when he has the Weather Channel. The stupidity was unfathomable...
