Oh thank god, I thought this was about me[Edited on April 28, 2013 at 10:25 PM. Reason : but Ann Coulter's line about the hijab has had my jimmies significantly rustled lately.]
4/28/2013 10:23:50 PM
i'd have to think Coulter's comment was taken out of contextright?
4/28/2013 10:39:36 PM
Most likely no
4/28/2013 10:40:30 PM
i wouldnt put it past ann cunter, but i mean its a comedy show citing it, so i dont buy it either[Edited on April 28, 2013 at 10:47 PM. Reason : seemed like they were quick on the stop button]

This is the same woman who wants to carpet bomb Muslim countries until they convert to Christianity.

Stewart's shenanigans are cheeky and fun. Coulter's shenanigans are cruel and tragic.[Edited on April 28, 2013 at 10:58 PM. Reason : Shenanigans. Duh.]
4/28/2013 10:57:21 PM
agreed, but how much of that is based on what channel airs them
4/28/2013 10:58:13 PM
You say shenanigans one more god damn time.
4/28/2013 11:00:39 PM
must be nice to be jon stewarthe says whatever the fuck he wants about politics and politicians, but if someone tries to call him out he gets to say "b-b-b-but i'm a COMEDIAN!"
4/28/2013 11:16:24 PM
I thought this thread was about Fox News.
4/28/2013 11:19:07 PM
some tiiiiired trolling going on in this thread
4/29/2013 12:06:30 AM
john stewart is a top-notch troll
4/29/2013 12:08:14 AM
4/29/2013 12:29:30 AM
^cool, so i assume you have nothing bad to say about ann coulter
4/29/2013 12:33:05 AM
Why would you assume that? I am not going to try to deny her the right to out herself as a retard if that's what you are saying.[Edited on April 29, 2013 at 12:38 AM. Reason : I don't think Jon Stewart demands that everyone say nice things about him all the time]
4/29/2013 12:36:16 AM
he certainly doesn't, and neither does ann coulter (or any other pundit for that matter)but it's much easier for stewart to brush off criticism with comedy central as a trump card
4/29/2013 12:42:34 AM
You are correct. It is in fact much easier to brush off criticism when your TV show is broadcast on Comedy Central as opposed to some other channel. Say, for example, Fox News.]
4/29/2013 12:44:34 AM
considering the amount of political influence stewart has, i'd call it having your cake and eating it too.
4/29/2013 12:46:22 AM
sometimes I wonder if they are all just trollingI mean, they couldn't be...but they do behave, at times, ever so much like trolls
4/29/2013 1:11:31 AM
the purpose of any TV station, radio station, etc is to get viewers/listeners...whether it be Fox "News" or "Comedy" Central...they're really not that different
4/29/2013 1:22:18 AM
excellent point, sir
4/29/2013 1:34:21 AM
c'mon dude
4/29/2013 1:56:10 AM
The purpose of a "news" station should be to report news in an an unbiased manner. And the purpose of a "comedy" station should be to air comedy. That should be obvious. But yes, we know that they really only care about catering to their viewers.
4/29/2013 9:01:25 AM
^no, the purpose of the station is to make money. make no mistake about that.
4/29/2013 9:21:51 AM
uh, that's basically what I said. cater to viewers = make money.
4/29/2013 9:34:02 AM
4/29/2013 9:53:19 AM
4/29/2013 11:22:45 AM
Ann coulter and bill o'reilly say the shit they do because it makes them money by appealing to their base. There was excellent piece about bill o'reilly, Ann coulter, bill mahr on some NBC piece about how stations like Fox News and MSNBC cater to base groups to make money. They seem like decent people when they're "out of character."They're basically like Stephen Colbert on the Colbert Report, except people take them seriously.
