Matt Moore has been pitching solidly, but most of the rest of the lineup has been depending too much on poor offense and Longoria is pretty cold right now. Also, Big Haynes, feel free to talk shit to me in this thread. This is my team; not some dirty town-traveling wife beaters from the NL with the exact opposite of excitement going for them.

I didn't say Mandy Moore.
4/17/2013 11:32:04 PM
A's gonna run a train on the Rays this weekend
4/18/2013 12:12:42 AM
Depends on call ups probably.
4/18/2013 12:40:46 AM
The A's have played 1 series vs a team with a winning record and they lost 2 of 3.I'm not so bullish on them. Beating up on the mariners and astros for 10 games doesnt say much and the angels' pitching blows
4/18/2013 1:20:40 AM
The Rays have struggled with offense more than Haynes struggles with hunger, so it's possible they're gonna get swept. I have a feeling they're starting to figure things out though, and they're loaded in the minors, so we'll see what happens. I don't have high hopes for this season, but it would be nice to get stuff together in say, a month when baseball matters. Yay April!

4/18/2013 12:21:47 PM
They're probably pretty similar. Not a lot of good hitting, but really good young pitchers. Good pitching usually wins, so I'd expect both to be playoff teams or really close
4/18/2013 12:35:35 PM
not a lot of hitting by the A's?they're first in the entire league in runs, 2nd on base, 3rd in slugging percentage...Yeah they've played the Astros 6 times, but they can still score well- even with Cespedes out, and their key hitters under-performing so farAnyway, this is a TB thread, so I will bow out
4/18/2013 12:46:15 PM
Unlike the diarrhea that I excreted all over the Braves thread that is unwelcome, please feel free to speak your mind here, sans making threats and such.
4/18/2013 12:50:44 PM
meh for what it's worth, I like small market teamsTB would probably the only team I'd actually root for in the AL East, and Tampa as a city is fucking great
4/18/2013 1:40:39 PM
The A's are overrated right now, thats all
4/18/2013 1:42:05 PM
Who is overrating them exactly? It sure as shit isn't ESPN. They had a 9 game winning streak and there wasn't even a blip about, just talk about how LAA has spiraled into oblivion. If you tune in to Bay Area sports radio, 90% of the talk is about Barry Zito and the Warriors earning the 6th seed.I think most rational A's fans realize that it's fucking APRIL, and they're not getting too carried away. But to me the A's look like an improved version of last year's team, given that they can construct runs and take care of the teams they are supposed to be beating.
4/18/2013 1:47:33 PM
I think he means they're playing better than they are. I don't know the I trust Seth smith to hit .447 or Coco to hit more than about 2 more HRs this year. The rays have Zobrist and Longo, the A's have Cespedes and um.. Lowrie? Reddick? I really think they're about the same offensively, maybe slight edge to the A's and a slight pitching edge to the rays
4/18/2013 5:05:49 PM
Coco has already hit 4 HRs, and last year he hit 11. Doubt he will only get 2 more this season- the A's play the Astros 13 more times...You're also forgetting Brandon Moss and Chris Young, who've both hit 2 already. Josh Donaldson has 3, and did well last season too.People seem to forget how many HRs the A's scored last season... #1 after the All-Star break[Edited on April 18, 2013 at 5:33 PM. Reason : .]
4/18/2013 5:28:23 PM
Hahaha, wow. What was this a grand slam walkoff? Just...hahahahaha.
4/18/2013 11:12:34 PM
What is so funny..... 5-10 record?
4/18/2013 11:38:09 PM
You're not gonna troll me on the Rays dude. Like NC State, I know what I've gotten into.
4/18/2013 11:49:29 PM
I don't troll just state facts and look at scoreboard
4/19/2013 12:17:28 AM
You were trying to elicit a reaction from me based on their lack of success. In April, no less. I'm sorry I got to you in the Braves thread. And I guess in the Josh Hamilton thread. Whatever...
4/19/2013 12:25:46 AM
turn-about is fair play, son
4/19/2013 10:15:45 AM
Ill be at the bulls game tonight as my brother in law plays or the Norfolk tide. Go Os
4/19/2013 6:33:11 PM

4/19/2013 7:54:13 PM
k, i rescind all my braggart comments since the Rays suck so much.
4/19/2013 8:52:29 PM
Huh? Yeah surprising.
4/19/2013 9:25:21 PM
not really. We were due for a loss. But LOL @ anyone who said Coco would only get 6 HRs...
4/19/2013 9:31:38 PM
Going to the double header
4/19/2013 10:08:21 PM
Didn't watch the game. Can't stop focusing on this terrorist crap. Actually, didn't have a way to watch the game anyway...
4/20/2013 12:13:30 AM
1-0 Rays. Hasn't really happened in a while. And no, I'm not trolling you, UJUSTWAIT. Except UJUSTWAIT for a fucking A's win, I guess. Anyway, didn't you buy an amp from me that one time? How's that thing holding up? Solidly, I hope. UNLIKE THE A'S. hahaha I could go on, but you know I jest...[Edited on April 21, 2013 at 3:45 AM. Reason : k]
4/21/2013 3:43:59 AM
Looks like i was wrong about the A'sO wait
4/21/2013 4:39:27 PM
Bats are starting to heat up. Solid pitching, too.
4/21/2013 6:10:24 PM
Rays are a better team.
4/21/2013 6:30:54 PM
"We are not a very good team."
4/21/2013 6:47:31 PM
Saved a pair from the White Sux. Price starting to pitch like it matters. Only wish Carlos Cuntin was on this scrappy White Sox team to get beaned every time. The thing about the Sux? Just like their Boston Brethren, they usually have somebody to hate.
4/28/2013 9:34:21 PM
Going against Shields tonight. I will be damned.
4/30/2013 8:08:24 PM
I hope Carlos Quentin gets beaned multiple times during this series. What a bitch.
