Unfortunately, alumni.ncsu.edu does not work.

I wonder how long things will go on like this now that schools are moving to gmail and allowing you to keep you email address
3/29/2013 11:04:16 AM
so are you telling me that since NCSU moved to gmail I get to keep my address? I thought it expired 6 months after graduation/employment
3/29/2013 1:52:51 PM
Depends if you were around when the switch was made. I went back to grad school so mine was reactivated and moved to gmail when I started school again. Two years post graduation I still have my .edu email address.

This is awesome and almost perfect except that it's only compatible with windows 7/8 and not vistaThanks anyways though
3/29/2013 2:36:57 PM
why are you willingly running vista?
3/29/2013 2:54:56 PM
I'll 2nd that, fuck Vista
3/29/2013 5:16:23 PM
Because it came with my computer and has worked flawlessly for the last 6 years
3/29/2013 5:25:35 PM
You can get an upgrade for like $30 to W7 or W8 with .edu address. Anyway, copped my copy.WOOT!
3/29/2013 7:18:00 PM
there is a whollllle thread about this in tech talk...which happens to be the appropriate place for that.
3/29/2013 9:58:27 PM
^shots fired
3/29/2013 10:22:56 PM
anyone with a .gov address can get one, too (at least, epa.gov, dhs.gov, and dc.gov all work)
3/30/2013 8:22:27 AM
^^^As I said in that thread, my alumni.iu.edu e-mail address didn't work either
3/30/2013 8:01:32 PM
^ none of the subdomains will work (unity, eos, etc)i know they still work, but i don't think they're in use anymore

windows 8 isn't worth $30personally, i don't think office 2013 is worth $10 if you already have 2010...but i needed a new copy and figured i'd do $10 and go legit 2013 is soooooooo ugly, though
4/3/2013 1:06:10 PM
^agree about windows 8 not being worth it. Office 2013 is a push for me. My work still has MS Exchange 1837 apparently, so Outlook 2013 doesn't work with it.
4/3/2013 1:30:20 PM
^^ was actually hoping for W7. my copy isn't exactly "legalllll" and it's just buggy as hell
4/3/2013 5:31:40 PM
Can you still get W7? I looked for it a few weeks ago and couldn't find it anymore. MS finally stopped letting me use my current key on multiple machines
4/3/2013 5:36:47 PM
^^^^^ I upgraded to W7 twice for $30 each, and I recall seeing W8 upgrade for like $20 or $30 though I think it was for certain machines perhaps that were puchased brandnew around the time W8 was released. ^^^^ W8 is worth $30, but its not worth it to upgrade from W7 - there is a difference. Also, I think the new MS Office is very visually appealing. I like the new features that I have mentioned already. Was it worth $10? Well to me it was, I did not need it since I already have Office 2007, I just like to keep abreast of the MSO environment.

^^^,^^A mysterious Internet denizen known as Daz has created a solution to your problems.^It was $15; you had to register for the discount code by 31 Jan and use it by 28 Feb.anyway I found the upgrade process from Win7 smooth enough...
