I'll be there in two weeks for 4 days. What should I definitely not miss, aside from Teotihuacan and the US/Mexico soccer game at Estadio Azteca?Any other tips/advice?

I love Mexico.Teotihuacan is a must. You HAVE to go to the National Museum of Anthropology. Its huge, you can probably spent most of a day there. The Frida Kahlo Museum is pretty cool, especially if you are an art fan. Also, gotta visit the Metropolitan Cathedral. Its pretty awesome. Actually, here you go. Trip Planned. "3 Days in Mexico City". Basically everything I was going to type out is all on here.http://www.tripadvisor.com/Guide-g150800-l297-Mexico_City_Central_Mexico_and_Gulf_Coast.html/thread

Yes, I've seen that planning 3 days in Mexico thing. We planned on spending most of a day in Chapultepec Park. And we're staying right near the Zocalo so we'll hit most of the big stuff around there.Any good restaurant/bar recommendations?

Yea I cant really help out with the whole bar/restaurant scene. I always eat food from street venders when i've been there. Its cheap and delicious! I spent a summer in Cuernavaca (an hour south of Mexico City), and made a bunch of day trips. By far my favorite thing is the Anthropology museum. I only got to spend a few hours there and I regret not staying there longer, I could literally spend an entire day there. If you were visiting longer I'd recommend visiting Cuernavaca, and Las Estacas, a natural water park (as in a river). http://www.lasestacas.com/english/ Its amazing there

I've sadly not been to Mexico but let me second the street food thing. Everyone worries about that in a third world country, but really you just need to use your head. If a lot of locals seem to be eating it, you're probably OK. They wouldn't be eating it if it made them really ill. I'm more distrustful of the people who seem to cater to tourists. If you get sick it's no skin off their ass, you probably won't even have symptoms until you're back stateside.

The food is fine. Don't drink the water and drink plenty of alcohol. You'll be fine. I survived 2 years of Mexico following that advice.

People who live their can have a community of bacteria that are able to digest the food. Tourists go there and get sick. Its not set in stone but it works almost opposite of how ^^ explained it. You won't get kidnapped. Central Mexico City is actually one of the safest cities in North America if you avoid the biased American media.

I lived there for a few years as a little kid, but haven't been back sinceI should plan a visit!

begonias awesome! I did it a few years ago, the last year that they had it. After that they quit going there due to the 'violence'. Its a shame, amazing experience.

I'm taking some acidophilus tablets every day for a week before and then while I'm there. It might be pointless but it's better than nothing. You read a lot about staying away from the street food from the same people that say there's an "epidemic of Americans getting kidnapped."
