we need to win the next three and UVA and/or UNC lose one of their next three. UNC has Maryland and Duke still, so I'd imagine they'll lose one there. If we win 2/3 and UNC/UVA lose one, Maryland can sneak in.

This isn't going to be an easy game, they were one of our "good" victories early in the ACC season so I'm sure the road game will be challenging. Hopefully CJ rebounds like he should and reduces the turnovers and our guards step up.

Maryland can only catch us if we lose two of the last three and they win all of their games. They have two more losses than us.

UVa would need to lose two games since they have the tiebreaker. And we also need to have Duke stay ahead of UVa or they move ahead of Duke for tiebreaking purposes and we lose the UNC tiebreaker.

Two Teams Tied

When two teams are tied in the regular-season standings, the teams' head-to-head results are the first thing used to determine a tiebreaker. If the two teams played two games against each other and each won a game, the tiebreaker moves to the next stage. That involves examining the teams' records against the top team in the standings. If the two teams tied are in first place, the next-highest team is used. For example, if North Carolina and Duke are tied for first place and the next-highest team is Wake Forest, the team with the best record against Wake Forest would win the tiebreaker. Three or More Teams Tied

The process gets a bit more complicated when three or more teams are tied in the standings. When this occurs, the first step is to determine each team's record against the other opponents involved in the tie. For example, if Wake Forest, North Carolina and Duke are tied, the first step is to examine each team's record against the other tied teams. If Wake Forest's record is 1-3, North Carolina's record is 2-2 and Duke's record is 3-1, Duke would be ranked first, North Carolina second and Wake Forest third, based on winning percentage. If this process fails to reveal a winner, the same backup procedure is used for two teams: comparing the teams' records against the highest team in the standings.

ideally miami, duke, and uva win out - meaning unc loses to duke and we take the two team tie breaker (vs duke i imagine, unless miami is used as the tiebreaker even though unc played them twice and us once, either way we would take it) with unc.
