The "Norovirus in NC" stories I've seen seem to be from late Jan - early Feb. Does that mean norovirus is on the decline in NC now?

Anyone else dealing with this? I heard there are some outbreaks in Wake County.

Got it last year. It was the suck.
Not a bad way to loose 10 pounds though.

half of the people in my office got it this past weekend.

I was better by Tuesday, 100% by Wednesday, so at least it didn't last long. It was intense though, way worse than when I had it (or thought I had it) in college.

Had it like 3 weeks ago. Not fun. Not much pooping, but I did blow chunks once and barely felt like eating for a day. After puking though I started feeling a lot better and appetite came back.

did you feel sick or just have diarrhea? like is this something if you had it you would know it, or could you just mistake it for having an upset stomach?

With 2 kids under the age of 3, this shit has ravaged our house a few times.

Fucking horrible. My wife got a prescription for Zofran. It's about the only thing that will keep you alive.

Our 2 yr old was sent home from daycare after he got it. Then he gave it to my wife, who was pregnant at the time.

Then I started feeling bad... took Zofran and it knocked me out. Saved me from vomiting. I still had the shits, but I'll take the shits. Vomiting is the worst. I still had body aches, but not even close to what it's been in the past.

Call your doctor and get a prescription for ZOFRAN. Keep that shit in the house for emergencies.

I've heard tales that zofran lengthens the time you are sick. You stop the vomiting but you are keeping the sickness inside and making the pooping part worse. No idea if that is true or not.

When I had it there was no doubt. Three days of misery. I'd spend hours laying in one position; afraid to move because rolling from one side to the other would trigger vomiting nearly every time. When I went to the bathroom because one end of my body was about to start spewing fluids the other end of my body would decide it needed to spew fluids as well. It was relentless. There was never a "I think I'm feeling better" moment during those three days. Like I said...Miserable. I've had plenty of stomach bugs since, but they pale in comparison.

My husband was sick Monday and Tuesday. My son and I had it Wednesday and Thursday.

It's way more than "just an upset stomach." That's usually mild and fleeting. With Norovirus, there's hours of abdominal cramping, nausea, and diarrhea. My son and I also vomited profusely. The first 24 hours was the worst. Now my stomach just feels off, but I'm keeping food down.

I took Zofran and Immodium. I wasn't any sicker any longer than my husband and son who took nothing.

definitely felt it, had stomach cramps and spasms and felt like i was trying to digest gravel and razor blades. i also had chills, a fever (although only for the first day), and muscle cramps all over.

that's may be true advice if you have an upset stomach due to a parasite, and maybe bacteria, but probably not for a virus

actually, a lot of anti-diarrheals given for bacterial GE slow down the gut. otherwise the infection is moving through the bowels faster than the immune system can keep up.

Is Zofran considered an anti-diarrhea?

It's for chemo patients to help w/ nausea.

Zofran is not a motility drug. It's an antiemetic. And it's amazing. I also took it for HG (the worst morning sickness ever).

My two year old just started with the diarrhea. 4 for 4 in my household. My son's teacher said it's going around at school.
