Obviously there are still a couple weeks to go, but it's pretty clear who's going to earn ACC honors. What are your thoughts? My predictions:1st TeamG: Shane LarkinG: Erick GreenF: Kenny KadjiF: Richard HowellC: Mason Plumlee2nd TeamG: Lo BrownG: Seth CurryF: Joe HarrisF: Ryan AndersonC: Reggie Fatass Johnson3rd TeamG: Reggie BullockG: Michael SnaerF: James Michael McAdooF: CJ LeslieC: Alex LenHonorable Mentions: Scott Wood, Durand Scott, Travis McKie, Mitchell from UVa, Quinn CookI know I am overlooking some guys like maybe Booker or Sulaimon, but overall I think I got it fairly close. ACC Rookie Team will be tough:G: HanlanG: PaigeG: SulaimonF: TJ WarrenF: ???ACC POY = Plumlee although it could be a variety of guysACC ROY = Sulaimon

Coach: Larranaga.
2/27/2013 4:45:51 PM
I have absolutely no issue with Green being POY while on a last place teamdude is legit and way more consistent than Plumlee
2/27/2013 4:53:26 PM
I know we haven't lived up to expectations, but I'd love to see Howell get some kind of push for ACC POY. He outplayed Plumlee in two meetings and has been the one consistent on this team.Although I have zero issues with it going to Green. Just think Howell deserves some mentions.[Edited on February 27, 2013 at 5:23 PM. Reason : TBDV]
2/27/2013 5:22:44 PM
^^^ Yeah that will be unanimous^^ I agee with Green too although he does shoot a shit ton in order to get his points. No real clear cut favorite. I hope Howell gets a few POY votes just for being a fucking beast.[Edited on February 27, 2013 at 5:26 PM. Reason : df]
2/27/2013 5:26:24 PM
He does shoot a lot, but he's almost shooting 50%, 38% from 3 and 82% from the line.
2/27/2013 5:38:13 PM
Take McAdoo off third team. He fucking sucks and it's a disgrace to even speculate he'd make it
2/27/2013 5:40:45 PM
go ahead and toss Bullock on the 2nd teamno way there are no UNC players on the first two teamsbump fatass off the 2nd team for lack of minutes, but good luck bumping him off yourself, you'll need a skidsteer
2/27/2013 5:56:22 PM
Am I crazy for thinking Quinn Cook is more important than Seth Curry? I was shocked to see Curry as a Naismith finalist.* and I seriously loathe Cook more than other player in recent memory. He's a cockchode of the highest order on the court... but he's been key to Duke this year.[Edited on February 27, 2013 at 10:37 PM. Reason : x]
2/27/2013 10:36:59 PM
I think Cook's gotta be on there somewhere.
2/27/2013 10:46:30 PM
I could see Cook on the 3rd team easily. Not sure if the ACC will just put the 5 best players on a team or if they try and fill it out by position. If they just take the best players and segregate them in 5s, then Cook could even make 2nd team. There has been some good guard play in the ACC this year which should bode well for the ACC going into the tourney.
2/28/2013 9:31:15 AM
I don't think Leslie should be on any team

I put Seth Curry on the first team based on hype alone. Snaer on the 2nd for his clutchness. Quinn Cook and CJ Harris on the 3rd, because both seem like the most indispensable player on their team. Also, there's no way CJL doesn't at least make the third team ...he's top 10 in scoring, rebounding, and FG percentage in the league. 1st Team:G: Shane LarkinG: Erick GreenG: Seth CurryF: Richard HowellF: Mason Plumlee 2nd Team:G: Lo BrownG: Michael SnaerF: Reggie BullockF: Kenny KadjiF: Ryan Anderson3rd Team:G: Quinn CookG: CJ HarrisF: James Michael McAdooF: CJ LeslieC: Alex LenHonorables: Scott Wood, Devin Booker, Reggie Johnson, Durand Scott, Travis McKie, Sulaimon, HanlanRookies:G: HanlanG: PaigeG: SulaimonF: TJ WarrenF: Devin ThomasACC POY: GreenACC ROY: Sulaimon[Edited on February 28, 2013 at 11:26 AM. no way will Green win POY playing on the worst team in the ACC
2/28/2013 11:15:39 AM
Probably not, but you can't help but be amazed by the guy. He leads the nation in scoring but never seems to force his shot. If he could get ANY help from his teammates, he might be leading the league in assists too. He plays great defense too.Take him off VT, and they'd be a high-school level team.
2/28/2013 11:25:05 AM
Leslie will end up higher than people are predicting. 1st or 2nd team, Howell will be 3rd or HM. Name recognition and reputation factor way to much into these conference teams, Howell won't get the love he deserves, but I hope I'm wrong.
2/28/2013 11:26:38 AM
I agree that Howell should be first teamAnd that he won't be selected. He totally deserves it though. He brings it every night. He's just an under the radar workhorse that had no pre-season media hype, so he'll be ignored come All ACC time. Which is bullshit.
2/28/2013 11:48:26 AM
2/28/2013 11:54:43 AM
^^ and ^^^You'll be happy because you're very wrong. No well in hell barring injury Howell isn't at least 2nd team. Your point is still valid many times though.[Edited on February 28, 2013 at 11:59 AM. Reason : add another note ]

Maverick1024 you don't have Joe Harris at all? He's gotta be first team.LarkinGreenHarrisHowellPlumlee
2/28/2013 12:09:03 PM
^^ I really hope so he deserves it.
2/28/2013 12:15:03 PM
2/28/2013 12:15:21 PM
Yeah, dude is leading the ACC in offensive and defensive rebounds by a pretty substantial margin. Probably 1st or 2nd in the league in double-doubles too. And 21st in scoring. Better at least make the 2nd team.
2/28/2013 12:27:04 PM
^^^^Wow, not sure how I left Harris off. I had him on the 2nd team but cut him out somehow.Harris 2nd team, Bullock 3rd team, CJ Harris to honorable mention.
2/28/2013 12:39:36 PM
Most of the ACC media types on twitter have been preaching Howell first team all season.
2/28/2013 12:41:19 PM
Again, hope I'm wrong(has nothing to do with deserving it) but I don't see it being that far fetched for a hard working/non-flashy under hyped player from NC State to get snubbed. In fact, that sounds just about right to me, #NCStateShit.
2/28/2013 12:51:07 PM
Honorable Mention: Jevoni Robinson
2/28/2013 12:54:59 PM
not only will Howell make 1st team, he will get at least 2 votes for POYyou heard it here first

Can we discuss the fact that Plumlee shouldn't be ACC PotY? He has disappeared in as many games as Leslie.Green, last place team or not, should win.[Edited on February 28, 2013 at 10:17 PM. Reason : Oops, I didn't see bullets post. Spot on.]
2/28/2013 10:10:05 PM
Yeah, I have to agree. When I first saw that he was leading the nation in scoring on a last place team I was all, But then when I got interested and saw him play, I was like
2/28/2013 10:16:55 PM
i don't see pj hairston on any of these lists...i think he'll get at least honorable mention
2/28/2013 10:36:24 PM
Joe Fucking Harris
2/28/2013 10:40:09 PM
Yeah, this game might push Harris onto the 1st team.
2/28/2013 10:48:36 PM
setch curry does not deserve 1st team. period.
2/28/2013 10:53:04 PM
Redoing my first team (sorry Seth Curry). G: Shane LarkinG: Erick GreenF: Joe HarrisF: Richard HowellF: Mason Plumlee If Harris and UVA finish the season strong, he's the MVP
2/28/2013 11:33:57 PM
If Plumlee and Harris fall off and we finish strong like we should, I think Howell for POY and Purvis or Warren ROY still are possibilities. If Purvis starts the last three and continues double digits I think he makes the rookie first-team with Warren over Paige.
3/1/2013 1:01:30 AM
i doubt Purvis starts any of the last 3 games barring injury, I think Gott found his starting lineup with Bacca/Alice In Chains/Warren G/Calvin Klein/Dick TowelI do expect Purvis to get more minutes though if he continues to build on last gameWarren is our best chance at Freshman of the Year, though we would all trade that for winning our next 3 games
3/1/2013 1:03:52 AM
Yeah I have got to modify my prediction too. Joe Harris was insane last night. No doubt he'll be first team. I am starting to be worried that they'll put Seth Curry on the 1st team over Howell though which would be damn shame. 1st TeamG: Shane LarkinG: Erick GreenF: Joe HarrisF: Richard HowellC: Mason Plumlee
3/1/2013 9:00:50 AM
TJ should win RotY but it'll be Sulaimon.TJ is having a remarkably consistent second half of ACC season.
3/4/2013 9:56:01 AM
^ I agree. Sulaimon has had some real shit games lately although he had a couple big plays against Miami on Saturday. TJ's biggest problem is that State has so many solid players that he gets overlooked.
3/4/2013 10:21:58 AM
Howell is averaging 13 pts, 11 rebounds and 2 assists per game, and his numbers are even better in ACC play. No way in hell he doesn't make First Team All-ACC. Every talking head/writer out there that I have heard on the radio has mentioned that as of right now, you HAVE to include Howell on the first team. There is no post player in the ACC having a better season than Howell.I think rflong has a good prediction.
3/4/2013 12:32:18 PM
heard some talking heads earlier saying Larkin was the frontrunner for PoTYbetter than Plumlee I guess
3/4/2013 12:37:50 PM
^really? Blah, Larkin would be a crappy POTY winner. Without all the 24 year old 6th year seniors, Miami would be nothing. Larkin is a good player, but not POTY type if you ask me. Id give it to Joe Harris, Erick Green or Howell over Larkin
