literally, physically hotis this normal? I mean my damn water temp gauge's white plastic housing is browned on top from the heat and could give you 2nd degree burns.boost/vac, water temp, oil pressure gauges all hot as hell but operational. water and oil gauges use electronic sending units.

What kind of voltage do you have going to them. I know those bulbs are strong as shit.. Also do u have a leak from your hvac and the heat is getting to them

^^ thanks^ probably 12v jammed in with an accessory fuse. I haven't looked or thought about it in a while.

yeah, mine autometer gauges do the same thing. neither are in a pod, so i can reach the housings with my fingers. that little light bulb just sits there trapped inside of the gauge housing the whole time, making it hot, especially at the top right above the bulb. i wouldn't worry about it. hot enough to kinda hurt if you touch it for long, but definitely not hot enough to burn or melt anything.

The Marauder had two little autometer gauges way down at the bottom of the center stack for voltage and oil pressure. As I recall those little guys got pretty damn hot too after driving for a while. Not discolor-the-plastic hot though.
