I wonder if they'll carry guns
1/10/2013 5:35:36 PM
Going in where the Sams club used to be?
1/10/2013 5:35:42 PM
they better sell guns
1/10/2013 5:36:09 PM
NOW State's in business
1/10/2013 5:37:11 PM
so this is poor business senseopen up a gander mountain in morrisville, now you bring in a bass pro shop
1/10/2013 5:39:56 PM
Yes, it's going in the Harrison Square Shopping Center. Where the Sam's Club used to be.
1/10/2013 5:40:17 PM
I was thinking either there by sams club or they just cleared a bunch of land closer to Harrison and Maynard. Not sure though. I bet the people at Gander Mtn aren't happy.
1/10/2013 5:40:23 PM
i'm a little disappointed about this, in a backwards way - since there has never been one nearby, it's always been a treat to stop at these stores when traveling.
1/10/2013 5:40:49 PM
ok i wouldnt say poor business sensefor the consumer this isnt terribly excitingi would love to see an Orvis closer towards durham though[Edited on January 10, 2013 at 5:41 PM. Reason : s]
1/10/2013 5:40:51 PM
Gander Mountain is getting shit from the mayor of Morrisville to stop selling guns or some crap. I'm sure it's exactly what they had in mind when they built that nice new store last year
1/10/2013 5:41:56 PM
i bet this kills greatdoor provision and REI though
1/10/2013 5:44:50 PM
^^What all did you hear?
1/10/2013 5:48:18 PM
i always felt like morrisville was a poor place to open a Gander Mountain anywayand that shopping center is a pain in the ass[Edited on January 10, 2013 at 5:51 PM. Reason : s]

Gander mountain is an awful store. Other than having a bunch of guns, and the place is overpriced and overrated. The fishing selection is horrible, and the duck hunting section is garbage. It is only a small step above Dicks.
1/10/2013 6:33:59 PM
i agree, i was disappointed in their crankbait selection
1/10/2013 6:34:49 PM
1/10/2013 6:51:36 PM
i've had some bass pro shop gift cards i've needed to use for the last 5-6 years- now I will finally get to use them!
1/10/2013 7:10:43 PM
So Carolina Pottery (where Sams used to be) is closing?
1/10/2013 7:19:38 PM
bass pro's regular prices blow
1/10/2013 7:20:16 PM
I park over there a lot, and I never see anyone there, so the fact that it has taken this long surprises me (if it is, in fact, closing)
1/10/2013 7:20:50 PM
My husband shops there for glassware for his catering company. That Carolina Pottery is a lot more convenient than the one at the Smithfield Outlets.
1/10/2013 7:24:45 PM
Why can't we get a Cabelas? WHY?
1/10/2013 9:18:27 PM
Fuck America and its commercialism. We don't need this shit. Drive to Concord or just north of Richmond.
1/10/2013 9:30:56 PM
hipster rednecks ITT
1/10/2013 10:26:28 PM
The Morrisville Gander Mountain is patronized by gun slinging Asians/Indians.
1/10/2013 10:27:20 PM
Seriously, in Cary? This clearly belongs in Garner, or Durham. I can't believe Cary would allow itself to be tainted by the likes of a Bass Pro Shop. It took forever just to get a Bojangles for crying out loud.
1/10/2013 10:31:21 PM
1/10/2013 10:42:09 PM
Hold up the pottery is closing for this?F that noise! I go there a lot.
1/10/2013 10:53:56 PM
I think it's going to be closer to the maynard/harrison intersection. They've cleared a lot of land and google maps is showing some future streets there already.. https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=35.806572,-78.781135&spn=0.004933,0.010568&t=h&z=17

This is the best news I've heard all week
1/11/2013 10:33:08 AM
It seems like a really weird place to put a Bass Pro. Most Bass Pro shops seem to be located near a lake. Why are they putting one in Cary?
1/11/2013 10:36:19 AM
hahaha ^ they most commonly put them next to Hot Topics and Auntie Annes

1/11/2013 10:39:55 AM
lol what are places you can fish/hunt for 1000 alex ? but seriously charlotte, raleigh ??
1/11/2013 10:45:46 AM
Lake Norman actually is a pretty good sized lake.
1/11/2013 10:46:37 AM
The one in Concord is nowhere near Lake Norman, it's like 40 minutes away in a mall.[Edited on January 11, 2013 at 10:48 AM. Reason : .]
1/11/2013 10:48:35 AM
1/11/2013 10:49:21 AM
Yeah.... those aren't really big lakes. Falls is the largest of the 3 and it's just over a third of the size of Lake Norman.
1/11/2013 10:53:12 AM
1/11/2013 11:07:04 AM
Well I used to live there, and I never considered Concord Mill mall to be close. I guess it's not too far if you are truly desperate for overpriced gear that you can find for sale actually on the lake. Plus there is always traffic, have fun trying to be in and out at that mall -]
1/11/2013 11:13:09 AM
Christ you people will bitch about anything
1/11/2013 12:23:57 PM
Well Cary is about 30 miles closer than Concord to me, so I guess this is a plus. Probably still not going to make the drive though.
1/11/2013 12:25:16 PM
holy crap, there's a gander mountain in morrisville????
1/11/2013 1:13:29 PM
yeah, rush down there and get ripped off
1/11/2013 1:23:35 PM
1/11/2013 1:36:37 PM
^i mean damn falls stretches from like raleigh to god damn near henderson
