Definitely recommend this bundle. The binding of Isaac is a good game, and beat the average to get Dungeon Defenders + DLC and Legends of Grimrock, both very good games. They'll surely add in something extra in a few days.

...also for anyone looking for deals, I think the Steam holiday sale starts in a day or two which will have a ton of great deals.

What you mean "its that time of the year" again... They just did their THQ bundle last week and they have plans on doing more frequent humble bundles...

And Dungeon Defenders w/ all DLC's are totally worth the average price.

THQ is not indie. I made the thread because of the two Humble Bundle threads the one was about Mojam's game jam or whatever and the other was dead. I figured folks would appreciate the heads up.

Yes, its an incredible deal even for much more than buck.

But origin is so goddamned awful it almost makes it a terrible deal anyway

Origin is not that bad. I really don't understand the hate, not that I am an Origin fan or something like that, just saying.

What a deal. Only reason Origin sucks is because everything else is already on Steam. And sales tax.

I have been trying to use it since last night when I got the bundle and i guess its not the worst thing ever, it did fuck up my sims 3 download this morning for no apparent reason.

The absolute worst thing I've ever had to use was Best Buy's digital store client. I don't know if it is any better now but my god it was just awful.

Origin was terrible during the BF3 launch, plus it looked like some Intern designed the UI; nothing made sense visually or even functionally. Even now, its still stupid in a lot of the UI design; needs a redesign to be useful like steam's layout. I just want to punch the marketing person in the face that decided to get rid of the name listings during beta and go with just graphical/picture icons for your game library list...

Not only that, but Origin had a huge issue with it fucking around with your system. Scanning your hard drive and sending data back to EA without your knowledge or permission. Plus some of their DRM's during launch wouldn't jive well with some computers. Not to mention the whole SimCity launch disaster...

Not everything is on steam. Only 3 of the listed games on the humble origin bundle is offered only on Origin; Battlefield 3, Dead Space 3 and Sims 3. Everything else are older games, before Origin, so they were on steam.

And yes, I agree, Origin still sucks, but damn, it has gotten way way way better since last year. It's still in its infancy, but I do hope now that the EA CEO ouster would mean that they'd change up their distro model and include steam again for major new game releases. That was the single most stupid idea EA had...

Also, FYI, for sales tax, just put a fake CA address... they have no tax for Digital products.

origin also has major scale issues from the backend architecture. no ui redesign will fix that and EA has too much in it to dump it whole sale unfortunately

True, but I'd rather have EA start to offer products on both Origin and Steam again for new releases instead of being pigeon holed to only using Origin. It just didn't make any marketing sense for them to break ties for new releases on Steam when they released Origin other than attempting to be greedy and failing miserably at the execution.

They should have offered unique DLC's and sale prices to get people to jump over while still offering steam versions, that way it wasn't a complete disaster with everyone trying to use Origin at the same time and causing backend problems since the loads were never vetted. I mean I'm not a true IT sys admin (yet) and its such an obvious problem to ask... How the hell did that not come up in a meeting?

It's a reason why one should have a room filled with engineers, marketing, and business people to iron out the ideas of what can and can't be accomplished in a realistic fashion that's obtainable and also cost effective.

been trying for days and I've yet to successfully download and install any of the origin only games.

I seem to be having the same problem as this guy: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/8819321.page

And after reading through some of that hilarious support thread, I'm not sure that I will ever get it to work.

Definitely a strong pack this time.

The biggest draw for me for most of the bundles are the soundtracks you get.

BUNDLE

Monaco is worth at the average price alone. Antichamber's cool. Guacamelee's a fun little Metroidvania (which I'm a full for), and I've heard pretty good things about Dust: An Elysian trail.

They added Fez, Starseed Pilgrim, and Beat Buddy. If you like indies at all, you should totally play Fez. Despite the drama surrounding Fish, it's clearly a game made of love.
