I'm looking for a speaker to play songs from my Android phone (and the occasional i-device).Rechargeable is a must, Bluetooth would be nice, and sound quality is obviously high up on the list. I've like to keep it between $100-$200.Any recommendations?

It appears I could pick up one of these, new, for around $200 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046ZRR3SAnyone heard one before?
11/19/2012 9:46:48 AM
friend has it and he loves thishttp://store.jawbone.com/store/aliphcom/list/CategoryID.56300000/

the bose soundlink is really great. i have two. i've used a friend's jawbone. isn't bad, but it's smaller and doesn't have the room-filling acoustics i was looking for.blah blah blah bose sucks whatever, it's a pretty straight forward, utilitarian product, and ive enjoyed mine.

^ i like...also anyone try the logitech UE?http://ue.logitech.com/en-us/wireless-speakersi saw them at the mall few days back but was in a hurry and dint spend time playing with one
11/20/2012 12:50:46 PM
Jambone Jambox is pretty awesome for being so small.
11/20/2012 1:26:52 PM
When you're talking about the Jambox, is this the one? Cause I think they have more expensive ones too...http://www.amazon.com/Jawbone-JAMBOX-Wireless-Bluetooth-Speaker/dp/B004E10KI8/ref=zg_bs_689637011_1
11/20/2012 2:27:28 PM
im referring to the comparable soundlink version that jawbone makes. it's $299, just like the soundlink. i actually would have purchased either one, not necessarily a bose stan. just liked the sound from the bose better.
11/20/2012 3:12:16 PM
^^yea, that's the one I've seen and used before, puts out quite a bit of sound for being small... dang at $129 I might have to get one now... battery life on the jawbone lasts forever too.[Edited on November 20, 2012 at 8:23 PM. Reason : .]
11/20/2012 8:23:17 PM
I just wish I could hear one around here before committing $129. Are they sold anywhere local?
11/22/2012 11:39:54 AM
ATT store had them....probably at verizon too
11/22/2012 12:03:10 PM
how big of a speaker?this is a good deal herehttp://www.samsclub.com/sams/block-rocker-am-fm-sound-system-for-ipod/prod3490081.ip

FWIW, I briefly considered making my own (with bluetooth) out of some bookshelf speakers, but got impatient and ordered this monster for ~$160http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TS2AO8/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I plug into one of the two aux inputs. No bluetooth streaming, no rechargeable batteries, and pretty damn bulky, but I looked past those 3 points since the sound quality is so good (wayyyyyyyyy better than the $300 Bose speakers) and it was well under $200.Also this might be helpful for some: http://gizmodo.com/5925112/the-best-100-bluetooth-speaker]

I really like my Jawbone Big Jambox...the sound quality is actually really good for such tiny speakers
4/18/2013 10:01:23 PM
I also own the smaller jambox and I am very happy with it.
4/19/2013 7:41:02 AM
jaw bone sounds amazing... my sis in law has it.
4/19/2013 8:25:32 AM
FiGo has some el cheapo speakers that perform exceptionally well for the price!
4/19/2013 8:20:32 PM
bttt. what's the new verdict? Does anyone have that Bose speaker?
1/20/2014 8:58:32 AM
i'm looking for something bluetooth and portable. Jawbone Jambox or the Bose Soundlink Mini perhaps

Tr-Tr-Tr-Triple Postdecided to go with the Logitech UE Boom. Rugged, 15 hour battery life, 360 degree sound. While still up there ($185) near the Bose price point I feel like this will be better on the boat, at the pool, strapped to my bike, and anywhere else i may take it without worrying about it's durability.

i got the JBL Flip about a year ago and love it FWIW
1/20/2014 12:46:41 PM
+1 for the jbl flip. Sounds better than the jawbone jambox, which I also have.
1/22/2014 4:58:13 AM
the UE Boom is awesome. already very happy with the purchase. room filling sound, quickly pairs with all my devices, and it has an iOS app that allows you to tweak the equilizer, check it's firmware, set it as an alarm clock to turn on automatically, and a few other nice adds.
1/22/2014 11:52:27 AM
that's pretty cool. does the app also tell you the battery life left on the device? that's the only downfall to the flip is no battery level indicator. i wish it displayed the battery life on my phone like my LG HBS-730 bluetooth headphones do.
1/22/2014 11:59:58 AM
the app tells you the battery life, and it's also displayed next the bluetooth icon on the top bar of the iphone as well. really cool feature.

I bought a pair of speakers and a small T amp and have something i think sounds pretty good for $100.
1/22/2014 2:24:09 PM
the block rocker is what I haveI love it.http://www.samsclub.com/sams/blockrocker-explorer-bt/prod9230260.ip

btttconsidering that Boom...how is the bass on that thing? i know it does highs well, concerned about the low.
6/18/2014 12:49:43 PM
That block rocker looks awesome
6/18/2014 1:05:45 PM
^ Indeed. Makes that thing I bought for similar money look like a real piece of shit.[Edited on June 18, 2014 at 2:36 PM. Reason : V I'd hope so...the woofer size alone is like 3-4 times larger ]
6/18/2014 2:21:23 PM
i think it sounds great with nice lows for what it is. It definitely blows the mini-boom out of the water after getting to hear them side by side for an extended period of time. I was looking for portability and durability which it excels at. It's survived the beach, bouncing around the boat, and light rain showers. If you need better sound quality you may want to look into the Bose or something.
6/18/2014 2:34:30 PM
i wish it were slightly wider. A few guys I ride with have a similar JBL speaker that fits perfectly in bicycle bottle cages, but they don't sound near as clean as the Boom. The boom is a little narrow, so it bounces around some.
6/18/2014 2:38:41 PM
Oh you're talking about the Boom...cool thanks. Trying to resist.
6/18/2014 3:40:44 PM
I've had a harman/kardon Onyx for a few months. VERY good speaker. $149.99 right now.
6/18/2014 11:39:49 PM
Where is that $150? Everywhere I look, it's $500.
6/19/2014 12:36:53 PM
I have the block rocker and I am a DJ...it's pretty solid. The battery being portable/rechargeable is the best part.I love mine.
6/19/2014 5:27:43 PM
^^Sprint sells the Onyx Studio for $149.99 in stores.
6/19/2014 10:03:33 PM
^^^ i'm thinking there are different versionshttp://www.amazon.com/Kardon-Onyx-Studio-Wireless-Bluetooth/dp/B00IYR8W2O
6/20/2014 12:16:24 AM
^there is a more expensive version with a silver handle and 3.5mm input. They both sound the same though.
6/20/2014 7:52:05 AM
Looks like it's $300-$350 more though...those cant be the only differences
6/21/2014 10:17:56 AM
You're right-the more expensive version also has AirPlay and DLNA support. All I need is bluetooth. The one Sprint sells was originally $399 at launch, but I know for a fact that their cost is ~$70, so even selling them at $149 is still a good margin.[Edited on June 21, 2014 at 10:27 AM. Reason : .]
6/21/2014 10:25:42 AM
So Sprint has them in-store for $150? I might have to go give one a listen...
6/21/2014 10:38:17 AM
^yes
6/21/2014 7:20:15 PM
the block rocker is currently $30 off right now, so only $120 at sam's clubi don't even need one and i'm thinking about getting it
6/23/2014 11:07:31 AM
http://www.samsclub.com/sams/blockrocker-explorer-bt/prod9230260.ipshould I get?!
6/29/2014 8:32:25 PM
That thing looks awesome, but I'm not sure it's what I'd call "portable"
6/29/2014 8:46:41 PM
Yes, buy it.
