unless the thread is labeled as NSFW. Or how hard would it be to have a "NSFW" feature that threads can be labeled as such by the creator or a moderator?
10/25/2012 9:32:39 AM
Agreed. Though the Better TWW script already does this. Really need some moderation on random NSFW material placed in unexpected threads.
10/25/2012 9:47:04 AM
On the other hand it's going to be funny as shit when Smath gets fired for looking at porn at work since he's a goddamn teacher. Can't we just leave TWW as-is and keep our eyes peeled on WRAL for that mugshot?

"Lets make it policy that there should be no porn"]
10/25/2012 5:33:09 PM
I'll get behind this.If people still want the ability to post porn in random threads at least have the mods mark the thread title NSFW or remove NSFW content. Here is a good examplehttp://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=610459&page=74Fully work appropriate until the bottom of the page.
10/27/2012 10:14:10 AM
Fuck that.First of all, **Best thing you've seen on the internet today** should be obvious that there is nsfw content. Second of all, who wants people to be afraid to post nfsw content in threads that don't have it in the title because you aren't doing your job at work. Lastly, unless someone is spamming the shit in multiple threads or intentionally being an ass about it then I don't think this is a problem that is big enough to warrant some huge change in rulesI'm Kralluma nd I approved this message.[Edited on October 27, 2012 at 11:26 AM. Reason : post lastly, do your job]
10/27/2012 11:25:45 AM
^this is a problem BECAUSE people are randomly posting it all over the place to be an ass, but aren't being suspended.
10/27/2012 1:54:14 PM
I think you're overreacting. I don't see it all over the place...I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
10/27/2012 3:22:01 PM
Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Mine is that nudity should be confined to NSFW threads. Not just for work but when I'm browsing at home I don't want to accidentally click on some shit my kid will see.
10/27/2012 6:01:36 PM
this is why I stay out of shit chat while I'm at work
10/27/2012 6:04:07 PM
i usually do as well.except the other day when there was a discussion about something serious and i didn't realize it was in chit chat then porn.[Edited on October 27, 2012 at 6:42 PM. Reason : ]

no.
10/27/2012 7:02:19 PM
You're clearly passing the blame on to me/us when it's your own responsibility to know which section you're posting in.]
10/27/2012 7:22:25 PM
It's already been established that while sometimes nsfw posts and behaviors will be moderated in chit chat, for the most part you should not expect that any given thread will be completely sfw, regardless of the subject. it's been that way for years, even before it was explicitly disclaimed on the forum description. While it's not perfect, it has served this site well imo. This thread should go focus on whether tww will be better off with chit chat as a default sfw forum. Discussion on current expectations will only distract from the real proposal here.[Edited on October 27, 2012 at 8:16 PM. Reason : .]
10/27/2012 8:16:01 PM
In your personal experience Frederick, do you find that browsing chit chat typically leads to viewing that would get you in trouble at work?I don't, if i stay out of threads that are 100+ pages and anything that my tiny brain leads me to believe might be nsfw like "best thing you've seen on the internet"I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
10/27/2012 8:24:15 PM
im with this. not everyone is in to porn and some people cruise this site at home with spouses/kids sitting in the same room. there is a lot of good material in the thread mentioned above. just because porn is the best thing you've see on the internet today doesn't mean everyone else wants to see it.

Change the name of Chit Chat to Chit Chat (nsfw).
10/28/2012 10:30:13 AM
You guys can't read?
10/28/2012 11:13:25 AM
i very rarely look at chit chat at work anyway (and really the only time i look at tdub during work is during my break time)...obviously if most of the users on here don't like the idea it shouldn't happen... I just wanted to open the discussion. My observations are that 95% of TWW users know when it is appropriate/expected and post stuff like that in threads like "18-21", etc. It's the 5% with no social skills that post smut in random thread because for whatever reason they think it's funny.
10/28/2012 2:02:33 PM
I would love this as well (though I never look at TWW on my work computer), but my opinion means nothing.
10/28/2012 3:44:43 PM
You can't change the rules mid game. Threads may be NSFW. If you're at work....WORK!
10/28/2012 4:01:18 PM
So if someone were to put in the effort and drop nude/gore pics in every single thread, would this topic get more consideration?
10/28/2012 6:06:47 PM
qntm these guys are right. I'm personally volunteering to go back through every thread and mark the nsfw ones.I'm Krallum and I approved this message.

^Do you not realize you are one of those socially awkward people who this policy change would be targeting?
10/28/2012 9:19:26 PM
^^^ So you clicked a good thread?
10/28/2012 9:55:36 PM
Smath, you calling me socially awkward has no meaning when it's coming from someone who is socially irresponsible and negligent of rules. You know better not to go to porn sites at work, but you're not smart enough to avoid places that are clearly labelled Not Safe For Work. I should call your school at tell them to block this site and I bet you they'd jump to the occasion. The worst part is, when you run into something posted that's Not Safe For Work in the NSFW section, you blame everyone else for posting NSFW material as if NSFW material is not allowed.Lastly, your motion to make Chit Chat "SFW" is being incredibly selfish and greedy when you have 11 SFW threads already. You're a little baby who has to have every toy in the house. You have 11 toys, you don't need one more.]
10/28/2012 10:52:54 PM
I think that this website in its entirety, let alone Chit Chat, should be considered extremely unsuitable for public viewing. I don't get why we suspend people for (or edit out) goatse, tubgirl, dead bodies, etc.I get pissed when people pic bomb threads with these things, or post them for no reason, but that could be said of anything. I don't think there should be much of anything off limits on here, aside from kiddie porn or something similarly depraved. Simply disgusting, perverse, gory, or indecent shouldn't cut it.[Edited on October 29, 2012 at 12:49 AM. Reason : ][Edited on October 29, 2012 at 12:52 AM. I don't think they shouldn't be allowed... just a small warning would be nice. Not just for work... I'm at home 90% of the time I'm on tww and don't want to see random dongs and whatnot all over the place.
10/29/2012 1:39:57 AM

You guys must be searching for dick and gore pics because i don't see that shit outside of like haha wtf pics and other obviously nsfw threads How about you post links to that shit so mods can deal with the 2 or 3 individuals rather than changing the entire site culture because you were offended by 3 out of 30000 threads Im krallum and i approved this message

stay out of Chit Chat at workthe system we have now works fineyou have a safe haven - it's called The LoungeChit Chat is always NSFWalways
10/30/2012 8:15:48 AM
While I understand the argument that it's chit chat so anything goes, it's not as though it's a non-issue. There are users that see this as a problem, so it's worth mentioning/discussing. I get that there's always the chance that there's NSFW content in chit chat threads, but on things like the Trump announcement it's unwarrented/irrelevant. Divababy even requested that the gif be removed from what was otherwise a discussion of a benign "news" story. Chit chat gets the majority of traffic; restricting oneself to the SFW sections often means that there's nothing going on. I guess what I'm saying is there's no need to change the rules; it is the NSFW section, but some common courtesy would be appreciated by those of us at work, especially on a board that many complain is dead.
10/30/2012 2:32:29 PM

^hopefully you understand the difference between posting porn in that thread vs a "WTF" thread or a "Best Thing You Saw on the Internet Today" thread, or a "Red-Head Appreciation" thread, or a "What the Fuck is This Bullshit" thread. I expect NSFW-stuff in those. I don't expect it in a thread that's supposed to be about Trump and Obama. I really wish you could understand that.
10/31/2012 10:07:19 AM
the mods won't do shit anyway, so he has no reason to reign in his shit posting
