I caught up on sleep last night, so it was around 11 hours. I was wondering whats the longest you all have every slept? I think mine is around 13 hours. The longest i've gone without sleep is around three nights in a row. That felt terrible.I think my old roommate, The Coz, had done around 19-20 hours, I know his goal was to someday pull off 24 hours.
10/15/2012 7:13:45 PM
I've slept a solid 20 before. The longest I've gone without is about 60 hours. I've done about 72 with a brief, inadvertent 30 minute nape in there as well. It truly was miserable and I though I might die towards the end.
10/15/2012 7:15:37 PM
Paging ssjamind. He went without sleep for like a week back in undergrad.
10/15/2012 7:18:33 PM
i've been almost a full three days without sleep. its terrible and trippy in a really bad way.
10/15/2012 7:18:40 PM
Yeah, i was literally working about 80 hours/week at one point last summer, so after three nights without sleep, I stopped at subway to get dinner on the way home. while I was walking back to my car I basically just blinked and almost fell down. when I got home I sat down and instantly fell asleep. I woke up hours later with my food just sitting in my lap.I'm sure others have gone longer, but if you go 3-4 days without sleep when you're working hard as hell (especially something physical), that shit is miserable.
10/15/2012 7:21:31 PM
I have spent an entire weekend sick in bed in a drug induced haze. I'm not sure if that counts. I've gone 48 hours without sleep and spent about 16 hours sleeping to make up. I'm not really hardcore.
10/15/2012 7:25:03 PM
Slept 26 hours after a three day migraine before. That was after a shot from student health.
10/15/2012 7:40:15 PM
Longest I've slept is probably around 12-14 hours. Just yesterday I slept till 4 pm...got to be around 4 am the night before.Longest without sleep is probably just a little over 24.
10/15/2012 7:46:03 PM
ive seen someone do a solid 25 hours but my max sleep is 19
10/15/2012 7:50:08 PM
3-4 without sleepprobably hit 20 sleeping once or twice
10/15/2012 7:51:55 PM
10/15/2012 8:45:09 PM
Damn, came here to post that ^
10/15/2012 8:47:14 PM
I stayed up 42 hours straight when the first wow expansion came out
10/15/2012 8:49:12 PM
^ that shit lead to the dropping of a class for me [Edited on October 15, 2012 at 8:50 PM. Reason : ]
10/15/2012 8:50:42 PM
i've done 24hr once before. Great shit.
10/15/2012 9:13:04 PM
Probably around 14 hours for longest I've ever slept.I've made it probably 36 hours without going to sleep.Haha, yeh, The Coz typically wouldn't get out of bed until 2pm on the weekends. I also remembering him wanting to get to the 24 hours.
10/15/2012 9:53:08 PM
Probably never more than 12 hours as an adult. As a child possibly more.
10/15/2012 9:54:08 PM
are we talking about drug-induced sleep/sleeplessness? because in that case... kidding aside, i usually sleep between 12-18hrs straight after my weekly 26-30hr shift
10/15/2012 10:01:14 PM
I went for a week without sleeping well. Tossing and turning and checking the clock every hour. That sucked balls. I was miserable, but it wasn't zero sleep, just zero restful sleep.
10/15/2012 10:28:34 PM
I went several weeks sleeping an average of two hours a night. This was due to military obligations though. I kept imagining cockroaches scurrying across the ground at my feet. Shit was crazy
10/15/2012 10:29:05 PM
The longest I've slept is 11-12 hours. The longest I've gone without sleep is somewhere between 26 and 30 hours.
10/15/2012 10:29:43 PM
When I am awake for long periods of time, I find that one week later I have little recollection of anything I did, during that period of time.
10/15/2012 11:25:24 PM
I've gone 9 days without sleep a few times. I doubt I've ever slept for more than 9 hours without at least waking up once.
10/15/2012 11:30:34 PM
10/15/2012 11:38:12 PM
I think the longest is 20 hours and the longest going without sleep is probably 48 hours. I remember being at my aunt's house and taking a nap before dinner and going in the kitchen to find out I had missed breakfast the next morning.
10/15/2012 11:43:07 PM
I was up 46 hours straight in the library before I started hallucinating. shit was wild
10/15/2012 11:43:13 PM
I've gone about 4 days without sleep; oh, there was a mandatory rest period at night, 15 minutes long, but by the time you bedded down you had to get back up. Truly miserable. I've done ten days with occasional naps of ranging from 15 minutes to a couple of hours at night, depending on how long it took us to set up the patrol base. All this while walking about 8-15 kilometers a day with about 100 pounds of weight and about 40% of your caloric intake made for a miserable experience. After about three days of this you start seeing people do / see crazy shit. At night I would see the most elaborate and ornate buildings through my NODs. I'm talking like multi-story shit, in the middle of the woods. People would fall asleep pissing and land in their own piss, talk to bushes, etc.[Edited on October 15, 2012 at 11:52 PM. Reason : .]
10/15/2012 11:49:57 PM
Considering the world record without sleep is supposedly around 11 days, if you've done nine days a FEW times, thats a bit insane.
10/15/2012 11:50:55 PM
slept - 20gone w/o - 72
10/15/2012 11:51:53 PM
TWW should know by now that eleusis is full of shit
10/16/2012 12:04:30 AM
I agree that 9 days is bullshit.Longest I've slept is probably 18 hours.Longest I've stayed awake is probably between 48 and 56 hours.
10/16/2012 12:07:08 AM
you could go back through eleusis's posting history and find numerous other similar bullshit claims
10/16/2012 12:11:19 AM
< Architecture student = 72 hours straight without sleep maybe a 20-minute nap, and 22 hours of sleep directly thereafter.
10/16/2012 12:15:18 AM
I've got 18 hours without waking up at all, but if we're including waking up to piss/drink water (no more than 10min awake), probably around 24 hours. With respect to staying awake, I've pulled a couple all nighters which were probably around 40 hours?
10/16/2012 12:17:31 AM
This thread is relevant to my interests! I even stumbled on it without a vanity search.
10/16/2012 12:22:34 AM
I pull all nighters almost daily, and I hate it. I need to give up this lifestyle. Back in HS, I once stayed up for about 75 hours (Thursday morning until Sunday evening), playing video games about 95% of that time. Then I crashed. Hard. No amount of caffeine or sugar could keep me going. I slept for at least 18 hours straight, because I missed a few of my classes Monday morning. But when I woke up, I was so exhausted and skipped the rest of the day. I think I ate some food and went back to bed. Then I read how you can actually die from sleep deprivation and I stopped doing the muti-all nighters. I'll go up to 40 hours without sleep between my two jobs, but I don't push past 2 full days without sleep anymore, nor do I ever desire to.[Edited on October 16, 2012 at 12:35 AM. about 3 days sleeping, but thats if you don't count waking up to vomit from the drugs student health gave me (to which I told them I was allergic)About 72 hours without sleep. College of Design yo.
10/16/2012 3:12:49 AM
i played poker for 46 hours straight one time. I then proceeded to sleep 19 hours afterwards.both records for me
10/16/2012 3:20:16 AM
10/16/2012 7:27:18 AM
I went 40 hours one time. The 40 hours wasn't the worst part, it was the fact that 18 of those hours consisted of bartending a double on an extremely busy day. I had to be in Raleigh the next morning by 10 am and I didn't get off until 4 am.I was dead for about two days.I THINK I've slept 11-12 hours before. But now I can't sleep more than 7.
10/16/2012 7:33:23 AM
I've gone 72 hours on several occasions, most recently several weeks back. Caffeine and cocaine help you thru the first 48, but after that you're on your own. My record is just over 100 hours, Tuesday morning to Saturday. By the fourth day you're a zombie. You can't drive and can barely talk. Can't be good for your endocrine system either.
10/16/2012 10:10:21 AM
it used to be my norm to leave from work on friday and drive to atlantic city (then about an hour), and play poker straight through till sunday afternoon, when i'd drive home fighting the hallucinations and sleep from 2 in the afternoon till i had to get up for work on monday morning.it's amazing i didn't kill myself.
10/16/2012 10:15:10 AM
i haven't slept since May 2007
10/16/2012 10:17:01 AM
i don't recall ever sleeping more than 9 hours uninterrupted...i do, however, recall staying awake for nearly 3 days with nothing resembling a nap...more than a few timesworking 3 jobs will do that do you...granted all I did was cry and puke after the second day
10/16/2012 10:57:53 AM
never more than 10 hours. I don't know how anyone can sleep longer. I can rarely sleep more than 8 without waking up. 3-4 is the norm.
10/16/2012 11:00:26 AM
After a long school trip to Washington DC in middle school where I barely slept, I slept for like 18 hours or something. No way I could do that these days if I wanted to.
10/16/2012 11:01:47 AM
longest sleep - 36 hours (under medication), 16 hours (unmedicated)longest without sleep - 70 hours, really started tripping out towards the end, led to the 16 hours of recovery sleep as noted above
10/16/2012 11:03:08 AM
Slept maybe 12 hours a time or two, w/o maybe 36 - 40 once.
10/16/2012 11:04:33 AM
I don't think I've ever gone more than two days without sleep, but when I was in college I would routinely pull all-nighters. One week before I final I probably averaged 1.5 hours a night. Towards the end of the week I felt like shit, was sweaty, jittery, nauseous, was hallucinating, and had a migraine. When I finally turned in my project and went home to sleep... I couldn't it was a terribly feeling. Not sure of the longest I slept. It was probably when I was sick or something and just napped on a couch all day.
10/16/2012 11:08:09 AM
Around the 40-45 hr mark for staying awake.I think I was in bed/asleep for almost 3 straight days once, but I was deathly ill so I don't guess that should could. Otherwise probably 18-20.
