Anybody else doing this? Pretty good way to get free software, though I haven't quite figured out what's in it for the guys that run the thing. I purchased the MacHeist II software bundle back in 2008, but I never worked the puzzles before. If you have a Mac, and particularly if you also have an iPhone or iPad, check it out:http://macheist.com

ive done the last couple of them. the guys behind it make bank; while a ton of money does go to charity they get a cut, plus it's a heck of a resume builder. the bundles are usually worth it if you want the one or two "big" apps they typically feature. you get a discount for solving the heists before the bundle is announced/goes on sale. the heists are actually fun to follow along with (the community/forums are filled with people with plenty of time that are smarter than i am) and you can just read the threads if you want to "solve" them and get the discount credits.

I've solved all of the puzzles so far. Hasn't really been anything yet I'm interested in, but free is free and I like the idea of searching for in game treasures and actually getting something for it.

Netshade may come in handy.I have solved all of them so far this time without assistance, but the one with the Ouija board did take me a while. Had to come back to it the next day.]

Tarot cards or light up watch?[Edited on September 29, 2012 at 11:03 PM. Reason : I'll admit, I just pressed random buttons on the watch until I won.]

I was stuck on the cards, but I slept on it and figured it out this morning. I sort of figured out the watch patterns, but in the end, it was mainly still button mashing.

No major sticking points on Mission 3. I like the gem puzzles.

That stupid fucking robot has got to be the worst example of controls in a game I've ever seen. At one point I was pretty sure that they coded it to just randomly move whereever it wants. Completed all the missions. Don't care about any of the prizes. Enjoyed the puzzles minus the shitty controls.

Agree on the robot controls. Even when I had them figured out, it was pretty illogical and frustrating. I still kept making errors. Still, hard to complain too hard about something that didn't cost me a penny.

^^You get 1% off per coin, and also a fixed $1.00 off for the OCD / 100% Completion discount. To get this discount, you had to also complete all puzzles in "The Heist" for iOS. It was a fun puzzle app. It cost $0.99, though, so I really only saved $0.01!
