Good premiere. Is this the beginning of the end?
9/25/2012 9:16:09 AM
As much as I've enjoyed watching this show in the past, it needs to end.
9/25/2012 9:57:04 AM
9/25/2012 10:06:08 AM
^ pretty much spot on for me.
9/25/2012 10:56:43 AM
Ted is such a whiny bitch, dude annoys me.
9/25/2012 11:13:14 AM
^^^ this. But it's been eight years. No show can go on that long and keep the momentum.
9/25/2012 12:42:58 PM
Agreed. They get me with some of the one liners still.
9/25/2012 6:22:25 PM
this whole barney and robin back to not barney and robin then Ted and Victoria back to not Ted and Victoria .Got damn it stop jerking me around and do one of 2 things be good like 3 years ago or END IT. right now i'm hope Ted gets hit by a bus or shoots himself.
9/25/2012 10:56:31 PM
They're finally going to finish the story, and nobody cares anymore.LOLIt's hilarious to me that this show could cog on for even more seasons. I will continue to watch and wonder what's wrong with me.
9/26/2012 12:53:38 AM
I stopped watching forever ago....not good anymore.
9/26/2012 8:35:34 AM
I continue to enjoy this show. Last season had an episode or two that was bad, but overall I'm still a fan.
9/26/2012 8:42:56 AM
9/26/2012 8:52:15 AM
i HOPE this is the last season...i used to look forward to it coming on, now i forget about it until i've racked up a couple of episodes to watch at once(and then feel that i've wasted my time)
9/26/2012 9:11:35 AM
at least Barney is single again...
10/2/2012 4:09:54 PM
Oh god that was awful.
10/3/2012 10:38:54 AM
^^unfortunately we know he'll be with Robin soon. And Barnie with Robin is boring. He was way more interesting with Quinn. Also, Victoria has very saggy boobs.
10/3/2012 10:43:02 AM
That was a pretty boring episode.
10/3/2012 11:19:03 AM
I think I'm just going to catch the one-liners from tumblr and just watch the last one to find out who the mother is
10/3/2012 12:30:06 PM
barney is the mother.
10/3/2012 12:43:09 PM
10/3/2012 3:31:37 PM
Tonight was the worst episode of TV I've seen in a long time.I feel kinda bad for the people involved, but it's impressive that they're all still somewhat committed. I mean, they can sleepwalk through these roles, but they're doing it convincingly with some really terrible material.
10/8/2012 10:12:38 PM
Snooooooze
10/8/2012 10:17:41 PM
this show and the office are perfect examples of why series should not last longer than 4 - 5 seasons. it just becomes down right pathetic. HIMYM used to be really good because it was easy to identify with Ted, a hopeless romantic, who was seeking a soulmate. Plus the show kept you hooked because Ted kept meeting people and you wanted to see how the relationship developed and if that was the mother. But then, out of no where, in season 5, maybe, they introduced cannon that would allow us to identify the mother. Since then it hasn't be as easy to follow along because 1) Ted has transitioned from romantic to annoying and 2) you automatically know all of the plot you're watching is just filler and not involved with the mother at all.The other thing that gets me is that now all of the characters are caricatures of themselves. Its like some exec read that viewers liked Barney's goofy womanizing, Marshall's Dopiness and Robin's Canadahood and amped it up 1000%.
10/9/2012 8:58:24 AM
I can usually put up with some bad episodes for a show I used to like; however, the part of the episode where Lily woke up holding a doll then she and Marshall started bad sitcom screaming at each other was probably the worst thing I've seen on this show. I almost turned it off there. And many series should end after 4-5 seasons, but some do alright. Scrubs started going downhill around that time, but I mostly blame NBC for pushing the show to be something it was not. When they switched to ABC for the final season, they found their second wind and the show was great again. Then there are shows like Doctor Who that are very easy to reinvent ever 2+ years.
10/9/2012 11:23:13 AM
based on the discussions in this thread i'm not even going to bother watching these until the mother is introduced. sounds like they've been terrible. i didn't even watch all of last season and feel like i missed nothing.
10/9/2012 11:36:48 AM
ugh
10/16/2012 1:46:31 PM
Its like they're being forced to turn the show into a cheesy sitcom. Between the screaming last episode and the game show this episode, the mood of the episodes just seem completely off. And a big at them choosing their friends over living parents as backup guardians. I'll still watch because I do think there is more good than bad (*think*), but I'm getting more apathetic.
10/16/2012 1:55:58 PM
Wow last night's episode was absolutely unwatchable. That may have been the cinderblock that broke the camel's back.
10/16/2012 8:51:49 PM
that episode totally fit in to the "how he met their mother" storyline.
10/17/2012 2:19:28 PM
the only woman on that show who has maintained her looks is the one who plays robin (basically victoria and lily have fallen off big).
10/17/2012 2:20:44 PM
eh, Robin's had some rough patches when Lilly was clearly the hottest
10/17/2012 3:14:04 PM
i thought the Cleveland and Ted not being able to get over being dumped line was hilariousbut yeah that episode was weak
10/20/2012 12:21:05 AM
WTF? That wasn't a new episode.
10/29/2012 9:41:01 PM
My TV description says its a new episode, and I don't recognize the plot at all. However fucking DirecTV didn't broadcast the show in HD, so all I got recorded was a fucking error message saying to switch to SD. Thanks DirecTV, thanks...
10/29/2012 9:58:20 PM
Definitely a rerun here
10/29/2012 10:00:40 PM
Wikipedia says that episode shouldn't air until Nov 5th.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_I_Met_Your_Mother_%28season_8%29
10/29/2012 10:15:53 PM
cbs decided to run reruns of all shows tonight and pushed back all shows one week.
10/30/2012 12:10:16 AM
Makes sense with several of the nation's largest markets without power and underwater right now. CBS was showing continuous flood images all evening here.
10/30/2012 1:56:14 AM
Wow, the current appeal of HIMYM just hit me. I was more disgruntled that I missed Jeopardy last night than this show.
10/30/2012 11:25:19 AM
Glad Victoria's gone - talk about going downhill in what was apparently 6 years.Before:http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120114055148/himym/images/3/38/Victoria.jpgAfter:http://wornontv.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/victorias-blue-stripe-lace-sweater.jpg
11/6/2012 1:35:01 AM
last night's episode is definitely the best one they've had in a while.
11/6/2012 11:01:08 AM
the chef catch-phrase stuff was dumb
11/6/2012 11:05:15 AM
^^^ Victoria isn't gone yet. Ted's little power move where he removed her wedding note and left the groom's wedding note still hasn't been resolved (from what I can tell). They'll drag this on a little longer. It will probably be an episode where Robin finds out what happened and convinces Victoria to come back. Ted will then find out that Victoria and him are not meant for one another, probably due to the slightly unresolved thread from last season where he acknowledged that Robin was the last person he said "I love you" to before saying it to the actual mother (aka he never says it to Victoria, whom he proposed to).
11/6/2012 11:13:18 AM
i quit watching this last season and certainly haven't seen anything of this seasonam i missing anything worth spending ~22 minutes on?
11/6/2012 12:12:18 PM
no
11/6/2012 12:13:49 PM
11/6/2012 7:15:29 PM
Anyone else's DirecTV DVR dick them over and not record last nights episode?
11/6/2012 10:53:55 PM
^^Yeah, I get that point, but then why have that scene at all? Just pointless filler?Surely they have some plan for showing that scene, and it hasn't come to fruition from what I can tell.
11/7/2012 10:00:13 AM
my TWC DVR didn't record the episode [Edited on November 7, 2012 at 10:48 AM. Reason : .]
