I haven't seen much of Miami this season. I watched a good bit of their game vs BC, but that's about it. I don't know much about them this year...that being said,

miami opens as 3.5 pt favs, so vegas thinks they are just slightly better, or else they think Miami is still a public team.

the last time state played on the road with a shitty crowd they shut the bed and blamed said atmosphere for the lossI expect nothing less this time

I hope that Boobs predicts a loss. We have actually played well against Miami since they have joined. IIRC we are 2-1, the one loss was the ESPN Gameday loss here I believe when Devin Hester fucked us hard.
9/23/2012 10:37:29 PM
teams are as evenly matched as you can get coming in so the spread should be 3.3.5 is way too much to lay, but the perception is that we suck this year. We don't actually suck, we're a top ~40 team just like miami right now.Miami actually has a HORRIBLE defense, like one of the worst in D1 but our offense has sucked too so far so we'll have to see if we can take advantage. Our defense has played really well since the UT game so you have to think they'll do okay against Miami's above average offense.[Edited on September 24, 2012 at 12:40 AM. Reason : a]

Miami has run the ball well this year with that freshman RB Johnson and they are coming off a game in which their QB had a huge game. I think the key will be for us to make them pass the ball and hopefully our offense will be able to control the clock. It hard to say how this game will go since we've yet to beat a decent opponent and got smoked by the only decent team we played. My prediction is that we lose a close one.

^^ I wouldn't say that game was close. We looked totally outclassed. And after their last two performances, its safe to say Tennessee isn't even very good.
9/24/2012 10:05:14 AM
You may be reading too much into what I was saying. I said we were in the game minus that 40 seconds and we didn't get smoked. And you are right they aren't that good. Because we did play like crap, and minus that 40 seconds, we were still in the game.

let's be honest, Tennessee had a distinct advantage in the ability of athletes on the field. That was obvious. They were stronger and faster. We cant always depend on trying to out coach the other teamit was SEC recruiting vs TOB recruiting[Edited on September 24, 2012 at 11:03 AM. Reason : ^lol]

So if we take out all the "ifs" it was a 14 point loss in a sloppy game. And back to my original point, we lost by 14 in a sloppy game on both sides. Doesn't sound much like being "smoked." And this is way too much talk about a game almost a month ago. Can definitely win on Saturday if we play a complete game. Defense was playing very solid fundamentals last week. I know it was just The Citadel, but without solid fundamentals the triple option will expose weakness. Adjustments were made, CB's stayed at home on the decoy receivers in case of a pass. Safeties were reading and making plays. Defensive linemen stayed on their assignments and stayed at home. These are all fundamental parts of the game and if we can translate that to the field in Miami, then there is a good shot. Assignment football is hard and if everyone buys in and does their job and relies on everyone else to do their job, that is a solid defense.
