just vacuum, towels, and put some desiccant packs in your car. I wouldn't go replacing carpet until you try and fail to get the water out and it smells like mildew, give it some time and let the desiccant work. Should be clear this week, leave your windows cracked and run the AC when driving to help dry it out.

^did you even read his post? he said he already cut the carpet out.

i can still wring water out of the carpet i removed. I was more afraid of standing water in the crevices under the carpet than the actual carpet the more I looked. Carpet is replaceable. I had to cut it out as I am not comfortable with removing my seats w/sensors. I just can't find any info on my car online regarding replacement.

you're gonna have to get it from a dealer and it's gonna be expensive

try JC Whitney or ebayand taking out seats is a piece of cake

I wish you had of gotten opinions here first before you cut your carpet up. My shop vac could have pulled most of it out and fans inside your car overnight would dry most of it out. I'd bet new carpet will be extremely expensive. My carpet set for my Tundra was like $850 new, so I just dealt with my current carpet.

you don't have to buy factory, it's just a fuckus

Just lock this thread now. Any attempt at reasoning with someone who decided the best course of action was to cut out the carpet in their brand new car because it got wet is pretty much pointless.

Locking it wouldn't be as much fun though!but yeah, wow

to remove a seat that has sensors in it you usually just...unclip the wiring harness. Ta Da!
9/24/2012 12:32:35 PM
That's the easy part, the fun part is finding out that a car seat weighs a lot more than you expect and you have to get it through a door that doesn't open as far as you want

$380 for the carpet OEM part.........not too bad. Installation not sure about yetYes I'll learn from this oneand YES those seats were not coming out easy.

probably easier than putting in new carpet

LOL. What is so ambiguous about
9/26/2012 8:36:42 AM
the mixture of the simple-past and present-continuous tenses when the past-perfect continuous or past perfect should have been use to indicate that cutting out happened in the past (or happened in the past and was continuing)
