Does anyone else watch these? Some of them are fucking great.

I watched High School Musical and Willy Wonka last night. Good stuff. Also the short "Setting up a Room" was kinda hilarious.

Never paid attention to Rifftrax until this thread. But because of this I checked out the samples and fucking loved them. Tried out The Fifth Element last night and watched Jurassic Park tonight."Oh my god! Imagine how much dog food we could make with just one of those!" Haha, fucking great stuff. Next on the list is Transformers and Star Trek: Generations. Then maybe try either Lord of the Rings or Star Wars.[Edited on September 23, 2012 at 10:06 PM. The best ones are the ones with Mike, Kevin and Bill. Titanic is by far my favorite. "You're cup of gin sir....""I'm going to sink this bitch"
9/23/2012 10:56:15 PM
Dark Knight is hilarious.

so how does this work? is it like syncing up Wizard of Oz with Darkside of the Moon?
9/25/2012 8:00:02 AM
Star Wars Holiday Special.

^^If you already have the DVD you can watch along while playing the RiffTrax mp3 from a laptop/iPad/iPod. They have a line sync called Disembodio who says a line of dialogue every 10 minutes or so to help you keep in time with it.Alternatively if you download a torrent of the show since they aren't worried about licensing/royalties/etc, they usually have the Rifftrax as well as the movie already in the torrent and synced, so you just watch it. Its not the highest quality, but I don't care about Blu-Ray resolution when I'm hearing the guys riff and talk shit about a movie.[Edited on September 25, 2012 at 8:29 AM. Reason : ]

I think I have a collection of about 50-60 of these. For the most part they're all awesome. There are some parts in all of them where they're trying way too hard though.
9/25/2012 8:52:25 AM
If you do download the torrents, I'd recommend at least throwing a couple bucks their way via donations.
9/25/2012 8:56:38 AM
I don't download torrents
9/25/2012 9:03:04 AM
^^Yea they have that option, and honestly these guys seem pretty cool about shit like that. A lot of their original fame came from people passing tapes around, so I feel like they aren't total dicks and understand. I'd honestly rather just give them $20 via donation instead of taking the time to download the mp3, find my DVD of these movies (which I have all of the ones that have been mentioned so far) and then watch them together and get them to sync. Fuck I can just torrent it and kick them cash and skip the other bullshit.[Edited on September 25, 2012 at 9:16 AM. Reason : ]

They actually mentioned at one of their panels if you do download their stuff that's cool, but they hope you donate if you like it.

We go watch them when they broadcast at North Hills through Fathom Events. There is one....October 25th? Whatever the thursday is around that date. Cinematic Titanic performed live at DPAC, I didnt get to see that, but my fiance really enjoyed it.
9/25/2012 9:32:11 AM
yea, birdemic in oct. looks like a horrible, horrible movie. i'm sure it'll be a great show.
9/25/2012 9:58:17 AM
Will this be a live show or a recorded show? Where can I get more details
9/25/2012 10:00:54 AM
fathomevents.com and usually they are broadcast live. You can buy tickets in advance at the theater.
9/25/2012 10:03:34 AM
yea, they are usually live in nashville and its streamed out via satellite around the country. when i've gone, i got the tickets through fandago...i dont know how it is there, but its a full house at the regal in charlotte. you gotta get there 30-45 minutes early just to get a seat. they do create their own pre-show slideshow with funny trivia so there's something to look at.
9/25/2012 10:33:36 AM
Yeah, the preshow is pretty good and it does get pretty full at north hills, but i dont think they sold out last time. No fees if you buy at the theater, and they go on sale fairly far in advance.

I'm having some people over next Saturday to watch a RiffTrax film. I'm leaning towards the Star Trek reboot or Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions. Thoughts?
11/1/2014 3:22:11 PM
Star Trek reboot.
