Has anyone ever had this before?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pityriasis_roseaA few weeks ago (3 maybe) i got this weird dry ring shaped patch of skin on my temple. Then about a week ago I woke up with three bumps on my stomach. At first I thought a bug had bitten me in my sleep. Every day since then the bumps have been growing and spreading. They are mainly on my stomach and back but are starting to spread down my legs and up my neck. Most of them are about the size of a large mosquito bite. I can also feel them under my hair on my scalp. So I googled skin rashes/bumps and got pityriasis rosea, the symptoms are almost exact. I am freaked out because from what I have read there is no known cause or cure (although it isn't dangerous) and can last for MONTHS. I am seriously starting to look like a leper or something and I was wondering if anyone on TWW had had this before and could tell me how long theirs lasted. Or if anyone thinks it could possibly be something else??

While I imagine this condition is pretty annoying, the good news is that it looks totally benign and will likely subside soon.If you are genuinely freaked out, you should research a bit more. There are a bunch of benign conditions that have no specific cause or treatment. It just comes with being alive yo!

In my experience the only things briefs did for me was make erections really uncomfortable. They didn't hide them or prevent them. In fact it seemed to me that that close contact between myself and the briefs only made erections easier (though still very uncomfortable). What helped me was to wear boxers and baggy pants. But its almost impossible to completely conceal an erection 100%. Whether you wear tight pants or baggy pants or tight underwear or baggy underwear, if you stand up with an erection odds are someone will notice.Fortunately as you get older it'll become much easier to manage those unwanted erections.

I've had it twice... once was earlier this year....By the time it was done, it was ALL over my chest, face & it did last about 6 weeks. The dermatologist gave me some cream to help a little - but really, time is the only fix. Direct sunlight helps, but heat (like sitting on a porch or just getting hot) made it worse... it was a game of managing it, and keeping it from getting dry/peeling....Good luck

i had gotten this in January of 2009. i was freaking out because i was going on a Caribbean cruise in February for a week and i didn't want to look gross. i had the rosea on my arms, back, shoulder and chest mostly. i only had a few spots on my legs and nothing on my neck or head. it looked very similar to the wikipedia picture posted; i think i had it a bit worse than that guy though.i had been prescribed a strong steroid topical cream and anti-histamines. other than that, time was the really the only true cure. while the meds helped, they weren't the sole solution. apparently it just needs to work itself out of your system from what the doctor told me. also, hot water typically made it look and feel worse so i had to start taking cooler showers. i'm not talking "cold" showers but not "hot" either; and in the winter that sucks especially first thing in the morning. the doctor had also recommended a tanning booth too since a lot of people who suffer from this condition or similar use the artificial UV to help their skin heal. i chose not to do the tanning booth as my condition wasn't severe enough in my opinion.

I think I had this when I was 10 or 11. The doctor gave me some cream, and it eventually went away.
