I need help, TWW! I'm looking for a tall, textured headboard. As of right now, this is the headboard I'm interested in. This is the sweet nightstand I'm interested in. It's made for a platform bed so it's only 17" high, but if I get a low bed frame for the headboard, it would work.My dilemma is this: the dresser. This is the dresser that matches the nightstands, but the problem is it only has 3 drawers and I'm looking for something with 6.Since I'm not buying the whole bedroom as a set, I need at least the nightstand and dressers to be the same exact wood and finish. Has anyone seen any cool & contemporary nightstands similar to the one above, with an awesome dresser?[Edited on August 29, 2012 at 10:25 AM. Reason : ]

^this, and z gallerie has similar beds

That headboard is actually really easy to make so you can choose the fabric, colors, etc.Plywood board, thick foam batting, fabric, matching buttons, staple gun.

tl;dr version: I'm looking for a unique dresser & nightstand pairing. It doesn't need to match the bed since the bed is upholstered.

I mean, if you're looking for a unique dresser, that's not really the one I see that style of dresser on Craigslist all the time.I really like this nightstand because it doesn't take up hardly any space at all: I'm debating getting one for our nursery to install next to the glider so I have easy magazine storage.

That one looks pretty fantastic!

Depends on how much you are looking to spend. Also, are you trying to find a pair that is very similar (color, shape, etc.) to the set you posted or were those just an example that you wanted something contemporary? Trying to stick pretty closely to the idea and color of what you posted...Crate & Barrel has their "Pavillion" set in black that is similar:West Elm has some furniture that is similar as well:Another thing: if the original one you posted is only 3 drawers but has the same width as most 6-drawer dressers, you can just use or make internal dividers to make it function that way if you are really sold on the set you posted. Also, http://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=614723&page=6#15511936 [Edited on August 29, 2012 at 10:52 AM. ^You hit it right on the head! That's exactly in the area of what I'm looking for. Love the Crate & Barrel one. I'm going to look at the dimensions of the dresser I posted and see if I can do what you said with the internal dividers!Thank you!

How much is the set you suggest? Price is an important issue for selection.
8/29/2012 12:32:38 PM
Well, I wouldn't ever suggest a whole set. I think it's ok to match some pieces in a bedroom (like a nightstand to a dresser) just because, in a bedroom, you tend to have so many somewhat similar pieces of furniture in a room that is not always very large. Too many completely different things can be hard to tie-together if you don't have an overall plan. But there's no fun in buying a completed "set" of perfectly matchy-matchy furniture.

I actually own every one of those pieces of Ikea furniture (and a whole lot more from Ikea) and while they look fine, the construction is absolutely garbage. Like nearly all Ikea furniture, it's made from MDF. When you put it together and leave it in place, it's fine, but if you ever have to move it anywhere, you're lucky if the construction doesn't "shift" and essentially become ruined. On the plus side, everything they sell is ridiculously cheap. Honestly, the only reason I haven't replaced it all is because my St. Bernard ruins all my furniture anyway

moving-wise yes, Ikea is not always great but the quality is actually decent on their stuff when used for the right purpose. While they cut materials of construction corners, they do so openly to make cheap, accessible furniture but they usually are both functionally and stylishly minded which I like. We've mixed a few Ikea pieces in with our other furniture and have been quite pleased. We're still planning on getting their OPPDAL platform storage bed soon too.[Edited on August 29, 2012 at 4:10 PM. Reason : ]

So is it pronounced bedroom suite [sweet] or bedroom suite [suit]?

i say [sweet]like Suite (room) 101.....again I say [sweet][Edited on August 29, 2012 at 6:43 PM. Reason : [sweet]]

I would pronounce it "sweet" but I have heard both ways. Either way I encourage people not to buy them (only if they ask for advice of course).[Edited on August 29, 2012 at 7:24 PM. Reason : ]

if its not been said before,Stack the dressers? 3 + 3 =6.
8/29/2012 7:28:17 PM
^ I've actually helped people do that before with smaller furniture in tight spaces. My one word of caution would be to make sure you attach the top piece of furniture to the wall. However, this dresser might be a little too big to work like that. It might seem a little imposing in a room stacked Because of its streamlined design, it does lend itself well to putting 2 side by side thought for a long span though.
