Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.
8/21/2012 4:41:29 PM
glad to see that Clark Duke will be a part of it
8/21/2012 4:45:27 PM
sure i'll watch a train wreck to its conclusion
8/21/2012 4:56:11 PM
I have faith that since they know it's the last season they'll re-focus their energy and it will look a hell of a lot more like the show it used to bethat and the fact that Greg Daniels is back
8/21/2012 5:03:07 PM
i've stuck with it this far...might as well see how it ends.
8/21/2012 5:10:57 PM
this shit is still coming on?I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
8/21/2012 5:48:47 PM
I'm sure Michael Scott will show up in at least the final episode.
8/21/2012 9:04:24 PM
Maybe the finale will end like Bob Newhart and Michael Scott wakes up on the plane he left on and the last couple seasons were one bad dream]
8/21/2012 10:33:52 PM
I hope it turns out that Agent Michael Skarn is really Michael Scotts identity, and he has secretly been undercover at Dunder Mifflin as the company is a front for the Taliban.

Obviously people who dislike the show feel the opposite is trueWhat a stupid fucking question[Edited on August 22, 2012 at 2:57 PM. Reason : Come on]
8/22/2012 2:57:15 PM
Of course.I mean what elements specifically have changed? Point to something - an event? character? - that kills the series for you so badly.[Edited on August 22, 2012 at 3:02 PM. Reason : come on]
8/22/2012 3:01:36 PM
Joe, Gabe, Robert California, Nellie, Andy as Boss, Erin, Paul Lieberstein as show runner, insufferable post pregnant Pam, useless Jim, etc etc
8/22/2012 3:21:03 PM
it's become lazy/somewhat depressing/at times unbelievableyou would think that 8 years of antics would wear people down Jim is a complete shell of his former self (who used to dream of leaving Scranton) and he and Pam together are completely boringAndy was a horrible choice to replace Michaeletc etc...
8/22/2012 3:21:26 PM
I can't tell you a single thing that's happened since Jim and Pam's wedding. any episodes worth going back and watching for those that gave up during season 6?
8/22/2012 3:23:36 PM
well this season the show creator is coming back to take the reinsall the shit with the sabre merger was after he had left, it's definitely possible that we get a final season that is well worth watching[Edited on August 22, 2012 at 3:53 PM. Reason : and come on, robert california was fucking awesome]
8/22/2012 3:52:25 PM
he was awesome in his first appearance, but after that? meh.
8/22/2012 3:55:00 PM
a lot of plot lines and characters I haven't cared for but most of all, it just stopped being as funny
8/22/2012 3:56:02 PM
Bob California and Nellie were awful. I do like creepy Gabe though. They need to keep pushing the envelope on how creepy he can get.
8/22/2012 4:05:18 PM
Last year was one of the Office's best seasons actually. It was really funny and the only sitcom i ever watch.Jim and Pam were always the worst characters I don't know what you guys are talking about. Neither of them were ever interesting or funny. They throw that shit in there because girls won't watch anything that doesn't have a romance and they all get wet for the "leave the mean boyfriend for the nice guy" storyline and they all secretly want steamy office affairs so it's a double doozy.robert california is a pretty good character. Andy is good as the boss. There are a lot of good supporting characters on the show and getting rid of Michael allowed them to use them more. Don't get me wrong, Michael was great but he tended to dominate the show and it gave it a fresh look without him last season. You guys are just typical Americans with your "OH I LOVE THIS ______ THAT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT. OH WAIT NOW EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT IT IM GOING TO TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH BETTER IT USED TO BE AND NOW IT SUCKS COMPARATIVELY".It's just a silly childish attitude people have about shows.

it's pretty hip to be an office hater and a lot of it is warrantedbut it's still better than whitney
8/24/2012 8:49:06 AM
there's nothing fucking hip about it at all
8/24/2012 10:20:00 AM
so we don't hate the office then?
8/24/2012 1:24:24 PM
it's not an issue of hateit's recognizing that a once great show has fallen off significantly recently
8/24/2012 1:25:42 PM

nahhe has the cultural tastes of a midwestern housewife
8/24/2012 2:35:43 PM
i dont think whitney is anything worth being contrarian over i just like the focus on two characters and i think the relationship stuff they deal with is pretty funny and i can identify with itwhy does every opinion have to be towards some sort of kayfabe or something? i dont even think the show is that unpopulari guess im not one of the flock of college pseudo intellects, meh[Edited on August 26, 2012 at 6:42 PM. Reason : and yes new girl is much better, but the storyline with that old guy lost me i didnt care for him]
8/26/2012 6:40:34 PM
The show still has some great moments but some of the choices they made in terms of characters added and the direction that some of the storylines went just weren't funny or didn't lead to anything funny.Specifically the handling of Andy as the boss has been terrible. They make a big deal about Michael's replacement, end up with Andy, only to have his job taken away by a random British lady who doesn't even get hired but just shows up and won't leave? Now he is getting someone to buy the company just so he can get his shitty boss job back? None of that is funny, and if anything it has become exhausting watching him bumble around. I figured they'd have him struggle for a few episodes and then hit his stride as a decent boss who is a pushover at times but then comes up with solutions at the end. Add Erin into the mix and it is just not entertaining. At least worth watching for the 1 hilarious thing Creed does every other episode or so.

Cant freakin wait for this.

Season 3, Product Recall had some great moments.
9/20/2012 1:03:29 PM
I was this show's biggest supporter and fan from March 2005, the beginning. I skipped class to watch Diversity Day on my computer, and I had no regrets! I put up with my friends and family turning on The Office, saying Jim and Pam are boring and cranky and assholes. And now, finally, I am at the point where I agree with them. I don't care anymore. I don't even get upset if some stupid cooking show usurped recording priority, because at least my fiance is happy when she watches Guy Fieri enjoy every piece of food he encounters. But now, I'm almost at the point where I don't even want to watch this season out of.. solidarity? This show is so sincerely bad that half of the cast isn't even going to be in most of the episodes this season. We're being played.Anyone want to join my pledge to not watch this? Or should I just watch it. I'm torn.edit: this is my favorite thread in the history of TWW: http://brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=353570&page=1 - you can tell that people were fucking excited before and after every single episode![Edited on September 20, 2012 at 3:00 PM. Is it truly a "bad" show, or is it just not as funny as you'd like and therefore disappointing?Soap operas are bad. Whitney is bad. The Real Housewife shows are bad. Tyler Perry shows are bad.You turn off a bad show because you actively don't want to see what's on there, no matter what's happening at any point in the show. This is a disappointing show to those that used to like it, not worse than that.
9/20/2012 3:20:49 PM
I guess I'm in the minority here but I have pretty much liked every season. But, I'm generally not the type of person who goes around complaining about things of which I have no control.
9/20/2012 3:47:50 PM
^^I would say, objectively, it's no longer "good". It's probably still entertaining though. But subjectively, as someone who really, really liked the show's first three/four seasons, I find it much worse.
9/20/2012 4:01:19 PM
OK...I'm not trying to get all over your case, just a pet peeve of mine and I've seen it in this thread constantly.People do it all the time with food too...they go to some restaurant and the pasta was "bad". No, the pasta was probably bland, over/undercooked, and possibly had a funny taste. If it was actually bad you would have spit it out and sent it back (I realize that happens, but only a fraction of the time)I was EXTREMELY disappointed in The Book of Mormon, probably the most disappointed I've ever been in something like that. I'd been anxious to see it since I first heard about it, and I would never pay to see it again. But at worst I'd call it slightly boring and just not for me...[Edited on September 20, 2012 at 4:56 PM. Reason : a]
9/20/2012 4:53:11 PM
The writers of The Office have been figuratively spitting in my pasta for two and a half seasons.
9/20/2012 4:54:51 PM
Not gonna tell you what you should or shouldn't do...but if a restaurant kept spitting in my pasta I'd probably stop going there, no matter how good it used to be
9/20/2012 5:12:35 PM
you are literally the first person I've ever heard of who had even one sliver of a negative thing to say about Book of Mormon I think it could be the most universally loved thing ever
9/20/2012 5:15:17 PM
It better be. I dropped like $300 for four tickets, in March, to go to a show here in Chicago, in December.
9/20/2012 5:16:10 PM
I think I posted my full review in some thread but I can't seem to find it right nowTo each their own, like I said, I don't bash it as being bad, but it just wasn't for me. My feelings of it are probably summed up with this one example:At one point in the show they make the joke that Johnny Cochran is in hell. Everyone and their mother laughed. Personally, I thought the joke was far superior when they told it in the movie, except it was Gandhi. That's pretty much how the whole show went. A bunch of ok jokes that don't come close to what I've been used to from them on South Park
