I feel with all the digital pictures I have, I would back them up on a photo sharing site. Ideally, I'd like one that has unlimited pictures, does not reduce quality, and is free. Read some stuff online, but was curious what t-dub likes to use.

i like picasa. it's not unlimited, but it does hold a decent amount and easy to share.

I was leaning towards shutterfly.

don't people who want to view your pictures have to have a login to do that?

I've used 4shared.com for sharing my wedding and honeymoon pictures. It's got 15GB for free, no picture resizing/compressing. Sharing options are pretty good, and it's easy to upload/download large groups of files. What was nice about it for my wedding was that I set up a shared folder where our wedding guests could create subfolders and upload pictures they took.

A "pro" account at Flickr isn't free, but it is extremely cheap ($25/year). That comes with unlimited storage at original quality. Granularity of sharing is pretty good, though in order to view content you've restricted to friends or family, those you want to share with will need to be members (basic membership is free).

I still want a way to download a full Flickr album (or let someone else download mine) without clicking on every picture. I don't know of anything that does this really, and since my friends generally know how to use computers, I might just start using some generic file sharing stuff instead.

+1 for Picasa. Especially if you have the Google+ app cause it will backup all of your phone pictures automagically in the background.

FYI: Picasa only has 1GB of storage for pictures greater than 2048x2048 (~4.2megapixel). Smaller pictures have no limit. See http://support.google.com/picasa/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1224181

I like Flickr, too, but it has down sides. Video uploads are limited to 90 seconds. Navigating through all of the pictures is a pain in the ass if you've uploaded a lot, but it's a little better if you organize photos into sets.

I think it depends some on the purpose and use, but I just use Google+. Uploading is easy, no limit to the number of pictures (to my knowledge). It's easy to share links (make available to public, select groups on google+, or you can share an album via a link --- I use that often for family), etc. The image is reduced in size/quality in the viewer. However, the uploader can download the original size/quality at any time. And I like their viewer. For the record, I haven't uploaded very large images to know for sure what the limits are, but I haven't hit any myself. So there may very well be some. I'm assuming they're the same as picasa, but I'm not certain.
