Describe the best meal of your life and what made it so special.Maybe it was the amazing food. Maybe it was the setting. Maybe the company. Maybe it was a special occasion, like a wedding or celebration.Best Meal of My LifeIt was my 25th birthday and I was celebrating in Los Angeles with my best friend and a good friend who lives in the LA area. We went to the Mondrian for pre-dinner cocktails, then dined outside under the stars at Asia de Cuba. We had wine, tuna tartare, crispy tofu and other delicious dishes. From their patio, you have the most amazing views of the Hollywood Hills.Great food, great company, amazing location... and best of all, our friend's husband footed the bill.Runner-UpAny meal at my Grandma's house. Her homemade bread is the best. And the setting (NC farm) and company (awesome family members) are wonderful.[Edited on June 28, 2012 at 4:57 PM. Reason : f]

I hate questions like this because I always think about them for longer than I should only to realize I have no idea. I suck at naming favorite/best/worst anything.

El Chaparral, a Mexican place near San Antonio, had the best authentic Mexican food I've ever tasted. I don't even like Mexican food all that much, but this place was phenomenal.

The best one that pops into my head at the moment. I'm sure my answer would change depending on the day occamsrezr and I went to Koh Phi Phi, Thailand for Christmas one year. We wandered around the main town area and decided to check out this Italian place that smelled amazing. Turned out the owner chef was some guy from Italy that retired on the island and opened up this restaurant. Ate right on the beach under the stars. It was the most amazing Italian food I've ever had. We spent over two hours enjoying that meal. Once we were done, we just walked down the beach to a neighboring bar and enjoyed cheap cocktails while watching fire dancers on the beach.

The best (and most expensive) meal of my life was at 15 East in NYC. It was my honeymoon and we did the omakase. The chef came out and talked to us about what we like and dislike and then made us 7 or 8 courses of food, all of which were amazing. With each course he'd come out and tell us what he'd cooked, how it was made, stuff like that. Out of all the fancy sushi we had, the absolute best thing I ate was this broth with some sort of giant roe in it.RILL RILL GOOD SUSHI.My mom told me I'd better still be married in 2019 and she'll get us dinner there for our 10th anniversary

Raincity Grill in Vancouver. Had a 5 course tasting menu that was excellent. It was called the 100 mile menu, where every ingredient was sourced from within 100 miles. The fact that it was during my honeymoon helped add to the atmosphere and the ambiance.

honestly, I think it was some of thisI would have been around 11 or so. I hadn't eaten any lunch and found this shit in the freezer. it was a big family-sized tray and non-microwaveable, so I cooked in the oven. it was hot and gooey and blew away any other meal in my short life for scrumptious deliciousnessand yes, I have led a sad, sorry, existence, that some Stouffer's turkey tetrazzzini was the most delicious meal of my lifenow that I think about it, though, I've eaten tons of random meals (Wendy's etc.) while stoned that were absolutely amazing. but this turkey tetrazzini was so good that it tasted like I was high, even though I was only 11 and sober.

Prime rib meal at some mom and pop restaurant in Ocean City MD, I can't remember the name of the place. It was back in high school and the place is closed now. But it had a delicious spice rub crusted on the outside and each bite just melted in my mouth. And it was HUEG. I wanted to take a second one home for dessert.

Steak n shrimp with loaded baked potato grilled by my dad
6/29/2012 9:46:28 AM
my dad cooked spareribs and babybacks over a firepit, slow smoking them until they were basically falling off the bone.mom made her potato salad the night before, so the flavors had time to blend just right.we snapped green beans from the garden, and shucked corn from our friend's farm.my brother-in-law had just gotten back from 2 tours of Afghanistan and 1 tour of Iraq, and my sister had just returned from working in Germany for 5 years. My family was "together" for the first time in half-a-decade, the food was perfect and fresh, and the night was filled with laughter. That's the kind of meal you don't forget.

Probably a dinner at Second Empire for my company party a few years ago. Had the duck, which was prepared perfectly with some kind of cranberry sauce on side, and got mushroom risotto as an appetizer. Started out with a good scotch and tasty wine during dinner. Plus it was free. 10/10
