No franchises. I tried.

I believe I read somewhere that In-N-Out Burger will only franchise to places that their refrigerated trucks can deliver to every day

If their delivery trucks drive very fast, they can make it here each day.

You were disappointed in tiny cheap hamburgers? What did you expect, prime rib on a roll?

When I first moved to NC from CA, I was so sad to learn that there was no In-N-Out Burger. As a 4 year old, it was the most crushing news I had ever heard.

I feel bad for people that have never eaten a In-N-Out Burger. Theres this guy I met in a class at NC State that was originally from CA and we talked about how we missed In-N-Out. He said he bought an authentic In-N-Out potato cutter on Ebay.

^^ that's just not true. five guys is really similar to in-n-out, and cook out is a different (and more delicious) beast entirely. or at least as far as regional fast food burger chains go.

Call In-N-Out a White Castle clone in front of someone from CA and watch the jimmies get rustled.

cookout burgers are awful. in and out and five guys burgers are good. cookout milkshakes are good. cookout trays are good for the price and/or if late and/or drunk.

I kind of disagree.

INO is fucking delicious, but its not the quality of Five Guys. (the meat, fries, etc..) Plus Five Guys is a lot more expensive. (relatively speaking) I really wouldn't call them contemporaries.

People too often make the mistake of getting their thin double burgers, or whatever they are called. Their larger patties rival any competitor around here.

As far as quality of the burger, Char-Grill certainly beats out Cookout. I definitely agree that Cookout's "regular" patties are much better than the "big double".

We have one near us in Dallas and it is really not that amazing. It is good and I like eating there but would never go out of my way to eat at one. Here I would rather eat whataburger.

^^Never been, but the menu reminds me of BUNS.

And, obviously, it's like Chipotle for burgers!

But, whatever, they offer fried egg for your burgers and garlic aioli for the fries...so I'm kind of smitten already. I'm almost as excited as I was for Noodles & Co.

I like how organic is 5/7-ths hidden by the burger, but the actual word only appears three times on the website: "Heinz Organic Ketchup", "100% certified organic coffee", and "organic quinoa burger".

Scratch, homemade, and local don't appear at all.

I was happy to hear Carls Jr bought out hardees, but they did not deliver the nom that they have out west... they did get it a lot better, but not the same

and Bigman, I think you did this to us with a white castle before, and I emailed them directly to see if there was any interest in them moving down here. They now email me every day with deals that I can't use, taunting me, and I blame you!
